Kilo is a summery Saison made with chamomile, coriander, and grains of paradise. The spices, hops, and yeast have formed a complex spicy pallet enhanced with a tart undertone. The sweet, floral aroma is filled with orange, Juicy Fruit, and pepper let loose by lively carbonation. 5.9%, unfiltered, and bottle-conditioned, Kilo is the perfect beer to break the summer heat.

This poured a cloudy yellow color with a white head. Aroma was yeasty, some berry notes, and light citrus too. Flavor was somewhat spicey, very fruity and lots of yeast. Nothing great but somewhat interesting and refreshing.

Smells intensely of green olive, and maybe some bacon. Whoa. Heavy, slightly sour, a little wheaty. Muddy with an awkward body. Yeast is strong with this one. Nothing quite works right here, but it is still somewhat enjoyable.

Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a cloudy, glowing, deep orange-amber hue. A moderate, quickly fading head of smooth, off-white foam settles to a tissue-thin blanket, leaving some tattered sheets of lacing behind. The aroma is based in smooth wheat and cereal grains, showing spicy notes of orange peel, coriander, lemony esters, and grain of paradise. A touch of cardamom emerges, while some old, dusty hops lend a touch of faded bitterness. The flavor again shows softly sweet cereal grains, spiced with lightly peppery yeast, orange peel, grains of paradise, and an ever-so-slight dash of bubblegum. Semi-dry and lively on the tongue, the moderate body is somewhat refreshing. Decent brew, though its dullness fails to impress beyond average.

6/19/10. On tap in an imperial pint glass. A nice typical saison - spicy, fruity, nice, but a bit light - ends nice and dry.
