A full-flavored hop assault delightfully lacking in balance. A combination of Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe and Columbus hops are used to produce pungent aromas of grapefruit, pine and citrus.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of freash hop, lemons, alfa acid, on a malty background. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, hops, grass, and alfa acid, leading to a very bitter finish. Love the aroma unfortunately the flavor is a bit raw.

3/4/13. On tap at Kickbacks. Lightly hazed golden orange pour with a nice khaki head that sticks and coats the glass. Interesting tropical aroma with a bitter kick and plenty of citrus. Rich tropical and citrus flavor with a dusty dryness and doughy malts... lingering fruit candy taste. Not bad.

355 ml bottle @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Rated on 24.2.2013.
Pours a hazy dark amber colour with a white head. Aroma of strong fresh hops and sweet fruits. Flavour is surprisingly strong on bitterness with floral notes, grapefruit, grains and pine. Unfortunately some gooseberries as well. Medium bodied, rough mouthfeel and a bitter, grainy and harsh finish. Decent.

Bottle at Ølbaren. Cloudy orange coloured with a small white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of hops, cookies and pine needles. Fruity flavour of hops, grapefruits and caramel. Dry hoppy finish.

Bottle at Ørsted Ølbar. Slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Fruity slightly unpleasant sourish aroma, sweet malty, lightly fermented hay. Strange texture, oily yet watery. Low carbonation, medium body. Off dry bitter finish. Out of balance, too bold and sweet yet watery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Piney citrus hop aroma, ’lacking in balance’ is apt. Clear, clean looking orange color. Hop subtleties are usually lost on me due to having consumer too many bitter beers, but I can tell you this is bitter and not in any specific way, although there is a secondary malt element that’s okay. It’s not a heavyweight bodywise even if it’s bitterness and bite prevent any mass consumption.

12oz bottle. Pours a golden amber with a thin white head. Nice big hop aroma but the taste does not hold up to the aroma. Very one dimensional with a bitter hop taste and nothing else to balance it out. meh.

2013.02.25 - Weyerbacher Last Chance IPA - 12oz bottle in pint glass. Bottle is about 6 months old. Pours a slightly cloudy orangy-light gold. Not much head or carbonation, just token spittle foam. Aroma is as noted - grapefruit, citrus, pine. Mouthfeel is pretty light. Carbonation seems low to non-existent. Taste: Hops. Hey, it's an IPA. As noted, not really balanced at all. IPA fans may love that but it's not really a plus to me. A bit thin, really, given the multiple hops. You really get some dryness of pale ale which is usually buried under hops. Not bad, given that characteristic. Basically to me: hops on the tongue, dry pale ale on the throat. Aroma 6/10, Appearance 2/5, Taste 5/10, Palate 3/5, Overall 14/20

Draft at Interstate. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with thin white head and lacing. Nose of pine, grapefruit, citrus, caramel. Thinish mouthfeel, average bitterness. Decent but forgettable. I much prefer a fresh double simcoe.
