12oz bottle. Pours a golden amber with a thin white head. Nice big hop aroma but the taste does not hold up to the aroma. Very one dimensional with a bitter hop taste and nothing else to balance it out. meh.

2013.02.25 - Weyerbacher Last Chance IPA - 12oz bottle in pint glass. Bottle is about 6 months old.
Pours a slightly cloudy orangy-light gold. Not much head or carbonation, just token spittle foam.
Aroma is as noted - grapefruit, citrus, pine.
Mouthfeel is pretty light. Carbonation seems low to non-existent.
Taste: Hops. Hey, it's an IPA. As noted, not really balanced at all. IPA fans may love that but it's not really a plus to me. A bit thin, really, given the multiple hops. You really get some dryness of pale ale which is usually buried under hops. Not bad, given that characteristic. Basically to me: hops on the tongue, dry pale ale on the throat.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Interstate. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with thin white head and lacing. Nose of pine, grapefruit, citrus, caramel. Thinish mouthfeel, average bitterness. Decent but forgettable. I much prefer a fresh double simcoe.

2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pours a hazy golden color with an average head that leave splotchy lacing. The aroma is the best thing abut it; big, citrus and piney hops that make a big promise. That promise is not delivered in the taste. There There is a big swell of hops in the front that just vaporizes immediately, leaving nothing. There’s nothing but water through the swallow, and a sort of mildly medicinal finish. This is a crappy beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
from Erzbierschof - clear dark golden beer with a little creamy beige foam left; herbal and flowery hoppiness; gently spicy; medium-bodied, fairly astringent, dry and solidly bitter; long notes of exotic herbs and tea in a dry hoppy finish

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Color is something like peach, it has small white head. Aroma of peach, mango, passion fruit, citrus peel, refreshing. Taste is light bitter with dry mouthfeel. Light body, thin texture, soft carbonation. Good IPA for the ABV.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a golden amber hue capped by a cream color head that is generated by ample amounts of carbonation. Nose is slight citrus and malt. Taste is palate wrecking bitterness followed by some flower notes, citrus. Not much malt presense in the taste but it transfers to a medium body.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy amber body with a one finger fizzy beige head that faded slowly. The nose is a nice mix of citrusy hops with a slight Simcoe note over a toasty and caramel malt base. The flavor has a nice aggressive bitterness with a citrusy hop bite. The Simcoe seems to take the dominant hand here as well. Some moderate caramel maltiness, but the hops are clearly on the forefront. Nice lingering bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied with a sticky hoppiness. This is pretty nice, a bit of a change from the Hops Infusion of the past.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
STYLE: American IPA
LOOK: Sudsy copper and gelatinous. Not more than a bubble or two of carbonation and no head to speak of.
NOSE: An English IPA vibe. Much less American than expected. Some floral, piney hops are there, mostly overshadowed by leather and pavement if that makes sense.
MOUTH: Harsh. Astringent. And a too-long finish for what it is. Pulling myself together – petals, soap bar, one-way road, grapefruit rind.

Not as great as I expected from Weyerbacher. Bitter, but not as west coast as I thought it would be. OK, but not on my Repeat Soon list.
