3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not the most aggressive IPA out there. Certainly not on the same playing field as Weyerbacher’s Double Simcoe. I realize it’s not a DIPA, either, but I just don’t think it hits it on the head like it’s big brother does.
Pours a pale amber, with very little head to speak of. Hops dominate the nose, with some pine and floral notes, which carry over into the flavor. The pine and florals are accompanied by basically every hop descriptor I can think of. I got citrus, herbal/spice, and some dank notes. Maybe not so much grassiness like you’d get from the nobles, though. It all left me wondering if I felt the complexity in the long finish was a good thing, or if it’s just too busy. I still have a lingering, slightly less than clean, piney aftertaste an hour later. Not much malt character to speak of in terms of flavor, or mouthfeel.
Overall, it’s a better than average IPA, but nothing to write home about.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a medium golden color a finger of foam... aromas are toasted malts and earthy spicy hops. On the palate... its pretty unimpressive. A hop assault it is not. Its got some nice earthy spice coming from the simco and a bit of bitter centennial byt the malt is overwhelming and a bit blah. NOt horrible but doesn’t stand out in the sea of IPA’s currently on the market.

Deep golden-orange body, small white head, spotty lacing. Nose is mellow citric and piney hops and pale malts. flavor is similar. Lacking any assertiveness or depth of flavor. Medium bodied, smooth carbonation, light bitterness.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From notes: Poured clear straw color, with a touch of orange and a 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of piney hops. Body is medium-to-full, with a dry finish. Flavor of piney hops with a resiny note. Nothing special, just a good, solid IPA and it benefits a good cause.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice color and attractive color, Hoppy "zap" goes away leaving pine to linger and linger. Nice but I’ve come to expect a bit more from Weyerbacher.
