A full-flavored hop assault delightfully lacking in balance. A combination of Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe and Columbus hops are used to produce pungent aromas of grapefruit, pine and citrus.

THOUGHTS: Not enough balance. Not enough malt to balance all the hops. Maybe they should stick to imperial stouts and sours. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a slightly hazy, dark, brownish orange with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was every weak compared to the flavor, but contained light cookie; very light caramel; and light to moderate perfume, pine, citrus and earthy hops. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and moderate to heavily bitter; while the finish was heavily bitter and slightly acidic with a long duration. There was grain, slight citrus, pine, concentrated grapefruit, citrus rind, metallic hops and straight up hop pellets. The nearly medium body was dry with fizzy carbonation and a dry and metallic finish.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2014 Sampled at Danís after Top of the Hops tasting. Clear golden pour with minimal offwhite head. Very earthy, foresty, woody, slightly lemony hops. Strong lingering bitterness. Body is a little watery. Kinda like hop tea mixed with an ipa. Meh.

Upon further review, this hazy golden elixer is better this time around. More pungent than I recalled. Better flavor, not as watery. Decent ipa.

Mostly clear lightly hazy golden with a smaller white head limited retention... Malty sweet fruit with a light hoppiness underneath... Not nearly hoppy enough to be called an ipa... Medium to medium thin body...

New Beer Distributors, NY 12oz ($2.25): Pours a light orange with a white head. Aroma is mostly simple citrus, with some pine and malt. Taste is pretty standard IPA. Very sessionable and drinkable, but this ainít nothing to write home about.

12oz bottle, brown pour, small off white head, slight hoppy aroma. lightly bitter, salty, light body (not necessarily good for an ipa), on the thin side. Overall decent brew, decent ipa, it just seems to be missing something to be great.

Crisp, slightly hazy golden coloured body with a very thin white head. Aroma of fresh grapefruity hops, a bit of malt and a definite and pungent sweaty gym sock scent that really dominates once you think of it. Light to Medium-bodied; Grassy and very herbal flavoured hops up front that are dominated by a bunch of the dry hopping characteristics with a mild and perhaps under dominating malt backbone with a little of the earthiness on the palate, but the floral and perfumey hops dominate. Aftertaste shos a pleasant hop bitterness with a minor malt note, some refreshing herbal characteristics and not much of a complexity - but thatís okay with the good, yet light, hops. Overall, a decent IPA - not great, but a nice beer to sample with a good cause, makes a beer worth searching for if you like the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle from a six pack, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-July-2012 for US$9.25/6pack sampled at home in Washington on 10-September-2012.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 6/12/2012. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Good amount of spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of orange, mango, grapefruit, wet grass, hay, herbal, floral, pine, dankness, and light caramel. Ok aromas, but they seem really odd to me; somethingís off, and wet grass is all I have to describe it. Taste of pine, grapefruit, herbal, floral, wet grass, hay, caramel, orange zest, earth, and herbal spiciness. Good amount of piney bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, pine, grass, floral, caramel, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Some good hop flavor balance; with prominent and crisp bitterness. Slightly weird flavors like the aromas. Light amounts of cloying bitterness and hop flavors. Medium carbonation and body; with a crisp and sticky mouthfeel that is good. Overall this is an ok IPA. I donít know how they hopped this, but there are some odd notes in the flavors and aromas. I certainly had no real issue finishing the glass though.

Bright bronze appearance with a medium size head and good lacing. Resinous, citrusy hop aroma which accurately describes the taste as well. Earthy, bitter aftertaste with a dry, biscuit-like flavor. Medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel leads to an average length finish.
