COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-flavored hop assault delightfully lacking in balance. A combination of Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe and Columbus hops are used to produce pungent aromas of grapefruit, pine and citrus.

Bottle, with Scott, pours a light bodied hazy gold color. Small white soapy head. Aromas of lemon peel, pine, bitter hops, light malt. Taste is orange, pine, fresh hops, bitter finish. Sessionable but nothing special.

Morey (46) - Erie, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 13, 2012
Appearance: Poured orange in color (when held up to the light) with just a touch of haze. Head is off-white and initially stood almost two fingers tall. There’s some good retention, and even better lacing being left behind on the sides on my glass.

Aroma: Pine Resin, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Lime Zest, Caramel Malt, and I’m also getting some subtle Earthy Tones.

Taste: There’s a good amount of pine resin up front. A wave a malt sweeps over the palate and makes a futile attempt to tame the sticky hop bitterness. The caramel malt flavors start to successfully push through towards the back end. The finish is chalk full of lingering unsweetened grapefruit-like bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with just under moderate carbonation. You can almost feel the resinous character eating through your enamel.

Morey’s Bottom Line: I like IPA’s that have nice lingering flavor, but this is just a little too one-note for me. It’s sticky and bitter, but there’s not much else going on. With all of the work that Weyerbacher put into creating a new year-round Ipa, I guess that I just expected a bit more. Still, this is not bad by any means. If you’re craving a sticky hop forward IPA, this one outta quench your thirst.

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus and resin hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of medium duration. Good brew.

Thin head on an orange pour. A bit hollow at first with grapefruit and grassy notes. Bitterness in the end......not their best effort.

On draft at Barley and Hops. Poured hazy gold with thin off-white head. Light grassy nose. Flavor is of sweet malt, grass, and mild grapefruit notes. Astringent, slightly metallic aftertaste. Thin and very one-sided. Rather poor IPA and overall poor example of the style.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy copper orange with a medium sized off white head. Aroma of bitter hops, grapefruit, grassy notes, light lemon and hints of bubble gum. Taste of grapefruit, bitter hops, grassy notes and tangy malt hints. A nice hot summer day brew.

Tap @ Whole Sale Foods, Columbus Circle. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are rich bitter hops, flowers, fruits and malt. Nice bitter finish.

This beer is a clear copper color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma is hoppy with notes of citrus and malt. Light to medium body with a resiny hops character and notes of grapefruit and malt. The finish is soft and lightly bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

So, my experiences with weyer are over the top terribly on style beers. This makes my mouth pucker thinking of this tasting. Looking at the label, I see it now has a cause. Very nice presentation out of the bottle like pale lager with an albaster head. Smell is fresh almost mild floral pine or spruce. Do you wannah now about the first taste or should I tell you about the big slap in the face? Bitter strong sappy thing. What a bang, seems like much higher than the 6% listed here, does not hide its alky well. Mouthcoating soapy oily hop sap. Burping almost perfumy terpentine, wew. i see co2 in the glass but the punch in the taste buds this stuff provides makes me forget all about it. Yes, terribly on style and over the top. fer sure; must be quite fresh? Borders on double ipa territory. Real IPA lover should try this; I bet you’ll give it a 4.

Pours a golden orange yellow aroma is of deep grainy hops. Taste is immediately peppery with only a hint of the melt backbone. Very hoppy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
