A full-flavored hop assault delightfully lacking in balance. A combination of Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe and Columbus hops are used to produce pungent aromas of grapefruit, pine and citrus.

Gold with a thin white head. Aroma is standard mild citrus, and taste is the same with bready malt and bitter pithy hops. Clean and uninteresting $1.80/12 oz

Pours copper with an off white head. Aroma is citrus, resin and very faint malts, hard time discerning them. Taste is bittersweet with a medium mouth feel and oily texture.

On cask at Barcade Jersey City with Paul. Pours a faintly hazed amber with a thin to medium sized white head. Soft caramel, light citrus, hops. Medium bodied, sweet and malty. Light bitterness picks up touches of quinine on the finish. Smooth and easy drinking, but an otherwise unremarkable IPA.

On tap at the Knick. Nice hoppy aroma, floral and spicy. Amber clear with thin white lightly-lacing head. Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation. Starts pretty dry, with mild grain sweetness and big bitter hop profile. Spicy and bitter in the finish with lasting bitter after.

Bottle thanks to dmac! Clear dark golden pour, a little soapy head and an aroma of hay and fresh crisp hops/green apple. Flavor is papery hops, very stale bitters and very dry pine on the aftertaste. Not bad, but not what I generally look for in an IPA.

Growler: Pours a golden orange color with a mild head. There was citrus in the aroma, but the flavor was dominated by the hops. Not bad.

An average IPA. Was expecting more. Aroma was good. Grapefruit rind and hairspray. Pour was a nice medium gold with a one finger off white head. Taste was very thin. Nice and bitter, with the citrus and pine dominating, but that hairspray and cleaner aroma carried through to the flavor. No malt to support the bitterness which is usually a good thing, but it would’ve helped to add body to the beer. Nice carbonation.

Bottle, with Scott, pours a light bodied hazy gold color. Small white soapy head. Aromas of lemon peel, pine, bitter hops, light malt. Taste is orange, pine, fresh hops, bitter finish. Sessionable but nothing special.

Appearance: Poured orange in color (when held up to the light) with just a touch of haze. Head is off-white and initially stood almost two fingers tall. There’s some good retention, and even better lacing being left behind on the sides on my glass.

Aroma: Pine Resin, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Lime Zest, Caramel Malt, and I’m also getting some subtle Earthy Tones.

Taste: There’s a good amount of pine resin up front. A wave a malt sweeps over the palate and makes a futile attempt to tame the sticky hop bitterness. The caramel malt flavors start to successfully push through towards the back end. The finish is chalk full of lingering unsweetened grapefruit-like bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with just under moderate carbonation. You can almost feel the resinous character eating through your enamel.

Morey’s Bottom Line: I like IPA’s that have nice lingering flavor, but this is just a little too one-note for me. It’s sticky and bitter, but there’s not much else going on. With all of the work that Weyerbacher put into creating a new year-round Ipa, I guess that I just expected a bit more. Still, this is not bad by any means. If you’re craving a sticky hop forward IPA, this one outta quench your thirst.

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus and resin hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of medium duration. Good brew.
