Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy golden pour with an orange tinge and a thick white head. Fruity and sweet aroma, bananas and spice stick out. Looks and smells like a German Hefeweizen, but at first sip you know its a tripel. Sweet malt flavors, citrusy and a slightly sour finish. Pretty good.

Tallahassee, Fl. - Liquor Loft - 12 oz bottle. Orangeish, murky pour, tight white head. Sweet aroma, with hints of banana and butterscotch. Flavor is decidedly sweet as well with some banana notes, cloves, a bit of yeast and a dollop of candied sugar. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky and warm. Very decent - always heard of this brewer, but not available in this area until now.

Bottle. Pours a hazy light amber with yellow highlights and small white head. Nose of banana, citrus, clove, vanilla. Flavors of the afore mentioned with faint peppery spicyness and. Alcohol is very well masked and is warming, not burning. Mouthfeel is medium with fair carbonation. One of my favorites for this style by an american brewer.

Bottle: Poured a golden yellow color with not much head. The aroma was yeasty and citrus. The flavor was sweet with fruit like apple, banana, and pear with a touch of maltyness. Overall, this one surprised me with its smoothness and drink ability.

Pours golden brown with a nice white head. Not too much carbonation and a good emulation of the Trippels I must say. Nice bitter and caramel aftertaste combination too.

Well balanced. Smells of sugar and yeast. The bitter sweet flavor hides the alcohol.
