COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

I’d had this ten or so years ago, but don’t remember what I thought about it, now I see it as a strong example of Belgian Tripel/Quad as (expensive) malt liquor, minus the chemical aspects in aroma & flavor. I smell sugar, corn and belgian gas. Golden yellow no head. Flavors of vanilla, peach, sugar and alcohol. thin in the mouth. sweet finish,

12 oz. bottle to tulip. Belgian yeast is strong in the aroma. Sugar cane, banana, spice and yeast dominate the taste. Palate is medium bodied. The 9.3% is hidden very well. Well balanced beer here. Overall, a wonderful interpretation of the style. Will get again.

Teku glass. Bottle. Golden/burnt orange with very thin, white head which dissapears very quickly. Very yeasty, fruity and spicey. Taste is very malty (dough, belgian candy sugar), coriander, pepper, sweet floral notes. Medium body, sticky texture, lively carbonation, finish is semi-sweet, strong alcohol warmth. In overall very average tripel

No aroma at first, if you get nose right up to head there’s a nice banana and bubblegum smell. Nice mellow burn with sweet brandy flavor. Light thin texture. Very very good.

Light amber, cloudy, dense and lasting mousse. Beautiful nose. Medium body, moderate flavor, very hot and lean mouthfeel, avg length. Sweet but well balanced by acidity, very low bitterness. Alcoholic, fruity rather simple flavor, pineapple, yeasty. Not my favorite in the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Petkus331 (335) - Redford, Michigan, USA - MAY 17, 2015
Aroma is like white bread, very yeasty, with some sweet cereal, lychee, and a touch of bitter hay/dry grass. Appears clear gold, nice streams of bubbles, not much fizz, no lace. Tastes like bread with some peachy-apple jam atop. Palate is a little watery but has some fizz. Overall, nice, a bit simple compared to other Belgians tripels, but it hides the alcohol well.

Tap. Clear amber gold. No head. Belgian yeast nose. Crisp bite. Super yeasty -- almost like bread. Snap of candi sugar on end.

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light candy sugar, coriander and curacao, alcohol warmth, classic Belgian aroma. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with loads of fruity esters, light cloves, curacao and coriander, alcohol warmth, nicely done. On tap at Jet Rock Terminal B, PHL.

White weak head. Amber colour. Aroma is malty, fruity (citrus, apple and apricot) with light spicy notes. Flavor is malty too with fruity (apricot and peach), ending in a fruity (apricot jam) finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle from Wegmans in Syracuse. Poured cloudy with a quickly disappearing head. Golden/orange/amber appearance. Aroma is yeasty with clove and dough, and a little tart. Taste is doughy, bready, more cloves and classic Belgian yeast taste. Malty, crisp and effervescent finish. The alcohol is well hidden! Overall great Belgian trippel.
