3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I was surprised I liked this, at a beer tasting event. Some DIPA’s or IIPA’S dont appeel to me, alcohol taste. But this kinda balanced nicely. So I brought some home. A bit too pricy, but .
Hard to find this in my area, I wonder where I can find some of the other Weyerbacher offerings

Pours a golden color with head and lace. Slight aroma of orange, banana, clove. Flavors of banana, powder sugar, clove, candy sugar, sweet malts, alcohol, citrus. Overall big, bold, relatively easy drinking with a touch of yeasty funkiness.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a slightly amber gold with a nice head and lacing which diminishes in a few minutes. Nose is slightly sweet with a touch of yeast, spice and pear fruit. Medium body approaching full with a nice slick texture. Very well carbonated from bottle conditioning. More flavorful than most Belgian tripels, although this one is US made, with a nice tartness against a typical Belgian flavor profile with a touch of spice. Finishes nicely with a slight alcohol burn at the back top of the throat. One of the better tripels I’ve had.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
THX! for this one. 355 ml. bottle sampled @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Pours a completely clear honey golden with zero head, pretty odd appearance. Smells exactly like the kind of candy that is called “vruchtengom” here I believe, the pear variety of that candy, same distinct sugary sweetness, very clearly the pear variety, touch caramel, quite like it since I love that candy. Taste is less explosive than the smell, mellower sadly, very sugary, same candy, sweet pear, honey, white sugar, yeast, caramel, sweet apples,… Very simple, very candy like, pretty odd interpretation of the style, is this what they were going for initially I wonder? Lowe carb. slick, candy like mouthfeel. Easy to drink. I rather liked it, everyone hated it. I suppose another showcase that the blunt “craft” style doesn’t work on more fine-tuned traditional beers but than again, I am not much of a fan of tripel’s in general, this was pretty easy to drink & interesting.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A vigorous pour yields a minimal half-finger to finger of pure white head that fades FAST. Beer is ranges in colour from gold to straw moving up the glass, and is cloudy with yeast. Moderately carbonated, small bubbles stream up the glass and last long after the head had faded. Intense doughy, bready nose with earthy pepper and banana notes. Mouthfeel is moderate to thin with any "weight" being the result of strong malts counterbalanced by fizzing effervescence; the beer foamed up on my tongue with each sip. The finish was dry and slightly hot, and the only time I noticed the alcohol. Overall, a solid brew.

Notes from 2011 -- Bottle. Pours a nice cloudy golden, small head, no lace. Slightly sweet aroma with a hint of citrus in there. Strong malt flavor, with bitterness in the background. Pleasant opening less desirable finish. High alcohol is apparent at the end of the beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Hazy orange with a large fizzy diminishing white head. Rasp/strawberry fruit esters, caramel, spicy hops, brown sugar, light warming alcohol. Medium body, watery/oily texture, near flat carbonation. Light sweet finish. Dull and low on hops.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
25oz. bottle. Pours a golden-amber color with a vigorous white head that settles to a thin film and stays around with plenty of carbonation. Strong aroma of sourness and yeast. Medium bodied. Again, plenty of carbonation. Sourness, some sweetness in the taste...slightly dry finish, but I wouldn’t say it’s dry. I’d say it’s a pretty good Belgium-style ale.
