patrick767 (1586), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jan 1, 2009 bottle - It’s a tripel? Interesting. The bottle says "Belgian style golden ale". It pours a rich gold and has a yeasty, bread malt aroma. The flavor is sweet malt with a little light hops and a fruity yeast character, as well as a hint of spice. It’s medium bodied and enjoyable. I would say to expect a flavor closer to golden ales than to tripels, but it is good. joeyplush (108), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 25, 2008 Pours a gold color, slightly cloudy, with a medium head that disappears quickly. Mistakenly let out some of the yeast at the bottom of the bottle, so had some solids evident in my pour. Aroma of citrus hops and some spices. Taste has light citrus, hops, some spices, and some offsetting sweetness. Decent carbonation. noncaloric (247), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Dec 23, 2008 Thanks daknole. Pours a hazy orange-gold with a thin white head that soon simmers down to a ring. Aroma is mainly yeasts, and quite pleasant. Flavor is yeasty on the front, fruits and spices emerge on the mid-palate, banana, cinnamon, and clove, sweet, and then a bitter, alcoholic finish, slightly fusel, not as pleasant as the beginning. Lingering pear and floral notes. Medium bodied, effervescent in the mouth, drying out on the finish. brewblackhole (1260), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Dec 20, 2008 Aroma was as big and fruity as any Belgian Triple I ever had. Sunshiney cloud of pear and banana, you can actually smell sweetness, which is surprising because the taste is not that sweet, those fruit flavors come out along with slighly heavy malt and a sharp dose of bitter hops that drys out the taste in the end. Worth it just for the aroma adrian910ss (1106), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 14, 2008 Pours a hazy yellow-orange gold with a medium sized frosty white head. Unfiltered with lots of hops floating around. Aroma of candied sugar, spicy esters, banana, cloves and yeast. Taste of spicy candied sugar, bananas, cloves, yeast and bread.
