The_Captain (234), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 8, 2008 Bottle, Haven’t had in the Trappist just a pint glass, whatever. Poured an orange yellow with white head. Yeast and sugar in the aroma into the pallet. Carbonation sweet and a little sourness. Crisp but not a thriller.
nick76 (1960), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 17, 2008 The aroma is very much like bubble gum with cloves, spice, and malt. The appearance is cloudy gold with a hint of orange. The head is average for the style. The flavor is like the aroma with fruit. The palate is smooth. Overall I am surprised how much this is like a hefe. Palidor19 (1194), Brandon, Florida, USA Jul 17, 2008 nice beer, the aroma is of clove herbs and bubble gum. great tasting malts, the rest of the beer gives a joyous occasion with fruity flavor and high carbonation. sebletitje (129), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 17, 2008 Pours light amber/orange. Aroma is vrey sweet of sugar candy malt.
For an abbey triple, the taste was a little different. The beer is very sugary/sweet and thick making the 9.3% quite present and enjoyable. An excellent brew. twitcher (110), framingham, Massachusetts, USA Jul 7, 2008 bottle. Pours a thick hazy amber color with a thin fizzy head. Aromas of fruity sweet esters, some bready yeast, and booze. Booze disappears in flavor, replaced by a smooth, thick, sugary sweetness. PLenty of spice notes as well, some coriander, cloves, and black pepper. Tangerines and rock candy sweetness. On the thick and heavy side on the palate. BuckeyeBoy (1063), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 5, 2008 Bottle pours out an orange with some amber topped with a white head. Aroma of yeast and fruit all over this one. Tast more of the yeast and sweet fruit. i also picked up plenty of spice and clove.
