2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
First rating in over 5 years. POure a dingy yellow color with a bit of a puny head. Nose is reflective of the pilsner malt listed flavor profile follows suit not overly complex. Big alcohol on the end which is to be expected weighing in at 9%+. BUt seeing as I am really drinking this beers potential so to speak i feel obliged to state that this beer would respong very well to a bit of cellar time. Guessing it would settle it down a bit and dry it out a touch. True to style to be sure. Like the big creamy, bubbly mouthfeel. Cheers and with that let the new cycle of rating begin. Great to be back guys

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I had it on tap. It pours an orange color with some white head. The aroma is spice and yeast. The aroma was a bit underwhelming. The taste was nice white spice, bread, fruit, and alcohol. For the alcohol content, it went down very smoothly. This was good.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle @ home. Clear a bit orange golden color, small white to off-white head. Both aroma and taste are malts, quite floral, very sweet and slightly herbal. Average to medium body, average carbonation. Hate to say it, but itís a typical US made Belgian style tripel and itís just not very good.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at Thristy Monk. This poured a light yellow color with a white head. The aroma is unpleasant with some corn and hay coming through and a hint of citrus. The flavor is a bit boozy with some lemons showing up. This was a bit like malt liquor I hate to say. I complained so much about it the bartender gave it to me on the house. Overall bye Felicia.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A decent tripel, but the aroma is lacking. Lots of spicyness in the flavor, but little in the nose. Pours clear gold with a thick white head.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Date: July 26, 2015... Glassware: Affligem chalice... Occasion: recovering from Shanís 20th LVR reunion while dealing with the (un)usual water in the basement--this time, a loose flexpipe in the air conditioner... Appearance: soft, hazy, orange amber body; swift, fizzy off-white head thins to a strong ring; .... Aroma: tangerine, candied sugars and some fruity esters--but subtlety of smell suggests this one could be monkish, quiet but powerful ... Palate: soft, lightly textured and vibrant on the tongue, with a fizziness that promises life; creaminess is apparent; aftertaste is brief and rounded... Taste: tart, puckerish and flavorful--grapefruit, apple, spiced alcohol and wine-like grapes--the profile is agreeable but not overwhelming for a tripel; .... Overall: I should note that this is a bottle consumed a few months after bottling; the alcohol is well packaged within a reasonably flavorful ale; the strength is in its softness, but the profile is not as diverse or enjoyable as others are..

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle with both a bottled on date [10 May 2011] and, presumably, a best by date of May 2013 - from notes.
Pours a hazy yellow-gold with a large near white head. The head is not dense but has good retention. Stopping mid-pour, to allow for the head to settle a bit, the beer is still clear and rather aggressive carbonation is visible.
Yeasty, fruity, malty aroma that foreshadows, but underestimates the striking flavor palate that comes with tasting. The usual Belgian tripel flavor components of yeast, light malt, banana and cloves -- but these are in much better balance than is often the case, and with a bit more malt flavor showing thru. Slightly sweet and moderately tart. Hints of plums and lemons. High ABV partly hidden in the aroma and, more so, in the flavor, although it does produce some warming and can readily be felt on the tongue. Medium bodied with a crisp and refreshing feel. The finish is not as dry as Iíd like.
O - This is excellent even by true Belgian standards: plenty of complexity, well-balanced flavors, fine finish and aftertaste. Highly recommended for U.S. fans of tripels.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Iíd had this ten or so years ago, but donít remember what I thought about it, now I see it as a strong example of Belgian Tripel/Quad as (expensive) malt liquor, minus the chemical aspects in aroma & flavor. I smell sugar, corn and belgian gas. Golden yellow no head. Flavors of vanilla, peach, sugar and alcohol. thin in the mouth. sweet finish,

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz. bottle to tulip. Belgian yeast is strong in the aroma. Sugar cane, banana, spice and yeast dominate the taste. Palate is medium bodied. The 9.3% is hidden very well. Well balanced beer here. Overall, a wonderful interpretation of the style. Will get again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Teku glass. Bottle. Golden/burnt orange with very thin, white head which dissapears very quickly. Very yeasty, fruity and spicey. Taste is very malty (dough, belgian candy sugar), coriander, pepper, sweet floral notes. Medium body, sticky texture, lively carbonation, finish is semi-sweet, strong alcohol warmth. In overall very average tripel
