3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. The pour was a hazy medium orange with an average sized (1-2 finger) white creamy head that dissipated quickly down to a light film with a small collar and had fair streaky sheets of lacing.
The aroma was of a light bread malt and a moldy Belgian yeast with notes of banana, apple, citrus (lemon) and a hint of clove and/or coriander.
The taste was mildly malty and a tad sweet with notes of apple and banana right off, becoming rather yeasty with a moderate citrus presence, a good dose of spices and a big alcohol finish. The flavor hung around for a good long time after the swallow with a spicy citrus taste left behind, along with a decent alcohol warming sensation.
Mouthfeel was a tiny bit beyond light in body and dry in texture with an almost moderate carbonation.
Overall this was an extremely tasty Tripel, with a nice yeasty citrus flavor. That along with the multitude of other flavors did a somewhat decent job of masking the high ABV, making this brew very drinkable and quite enjoyable...

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma is like white bread, very yeasty, with some sweet cereal, lychee, and a touch of bitter hay/dry grass. Appears clear gold, nice streams of bubbles, not much fizz, no lace. Tastes like bread with some peachy-apple jam atop. Palate is a little watery but has some fizz. Overall, nice, a bit simple compared to other Belgians tripels, but it hides the alcohol well.

Tap. Clear amber gold. No head. Belgian yeast nose. Crisp bite. Super yeasty -- almost like bread. Snap of candi sugar on end.

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light candy sugar, coriander and curacao, alcohol warmth, classic Belgian aroma. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with loads of fruity esters, light cloves, curacao and coriander, alcohol warmth, nicely done. On tap at Jet Rock Terminal B, PHL.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Wegmans in Syracuse. Poured cloudy with a quickly disappearing head. Golden/orange/amber appearance. Aroma is yeasty with clove and dough, and a little tart. Taste is doughy, bready, more cloves and classic Belgian yeast taste. Malty, crisp and effervescent finish. The alcohol is well hidden! Overall great Belgian trippel.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle and tap. Bottle has more yeast and sediments, obviously. More bitter and flavor, less banana than tap.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light golden color with a thick head. Smells a bit sour, it’s possible that it turned, as there was a bit of sediment

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear gold body under a one inch frothy white head that slowly faded to a thin covering. The nose is sweet and fruity with candi sugar, bready malt, light yeastiness, lighter notes of pear and alcohol. The flavor is a little too sweet for my tastes in the style, of which I’m not that huge a fan of as a whole. Sweet and fruity with a prominent alcohol warmth on the finish. Medium to full bodied and a bit chewy with fizzy active carbonation. Meh, probably my least favorite beer from Weyerbacher’s standard line-up.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at Edison Ale House, Newark, NJ; 10 oz
Cloudy golden color with small compact head. I expected more from Weyerbacher, but this is just one more sterile American attempt at Belgian styles, resulting in a boozy sweet beer, with strong bubblegum character, and relatively low bitterness; impression of pond water.
I’m not impressed.
