COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our latest creation, MUSE, is a Farmhouse Ale with a distinctive Weyerbacher signature. Farmhouse Ales, by tradition, were used as restoratives for workers during the warmer months under the hot midday sun. Typically made with barley, sometimes wheat and oats as well, a Farmhouse Ale could be light golden to amber in color, but always with a dry, slightly tart finish, thus being a great thirst quencher.
Weyerbacher MUSE is light amber in color, brewed with barley and a healthy dose of raw wheat and raw oats as per tradition, to give it a mouthfeel that’s both silky and light at the same time. The wheat and oats add a bit of cloudiness to the beer as well, so don’t be afraid, sometimes cloudy is good! A very special Belgian yeast strain was used to ferment this particular brew, and it was done at downright “hot” temperatures, 78 F, in order for the yeast to develop its spicy profile that is expected for a Farmhouse Ale. No spices were added to this brew, its all from the yeast.
MUSE is hopped with Styrian Goldings for bitter, and Saaz for aroma, both just adding even more to the dryness of the brew. Putting it all together, you have a slightly spicy palate, with pleasant aromas and very dry, mildly bitter finish. At 6.2%, you’ll want another one so you can ponder this intriguing taste profile, and you may find yourself wondering why you haven’t explored Farmhouse Ales before!

Bomber poured into a tulip. Fluffiest enduring beige foam floats atop the nearly opaque, smoky apricot-colored ale. Heady aromas of spice, cherry, unlit cigar, hazelnut, peach, and… chocolate?... wrap one in rapture. Sultry, succulent flavors of honey, bubblegum, tropical fruits, gardenias, musk, five-spice and ginger powder are as astonishingly thrilling as an ice cube to the nipples. Crisp, airy and fluffy in the mouth. Revelling in this bewitching elixir is akin to culinary masturbation. I don’t know what the rest of y’all are drinking... my Muse is breathtaking.

6/4/12. 22oz bomber that has some age. Clear golden pour with a small khaki head. Minty and papery oxidation in the aroma with touches of spice and a hint of honey and sugars. Slightly sweet malty flavor with bits of spice and sugars. Not terrible.

Scopey (7455) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 6, 2012
Bottle at Chriso’s Fullers-Gales tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours cloudy orange-amber, with a thick beige head. The nose is sweet orangey fruit - apricot, mango and ripe orange, as well as gingerbread. The taste is sweet orange, mango, apricot, grapefruit, metal, hay, straw and dough. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. Too thin and a bit too much sweetness. Balance is not great either...

Medium in body with fine to average carbonation. Sweet and bready finish, with some age on the malts. Pretty weak overall.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 A: Dark orange body, with a minimal head that all but disappears within a few moments. No lacing. S: Candy orange. Caramel. No Spice. No Funk. No BelgianYeast notes. T: More of the same. Out of style. But not bad tasting. M: Smooth. Light to medium body. Good carbonation levels. Lacking any crispness or bite to the finish. O: Ehh. I’ll pass on this most likely.

Cloudy amber/ orange pour with thin white head. A musty yeasty smell common in saison. A moderate belgian spice and bread flavor that starts out sweet , but finishes bitter. A hint of toasted malts and wheat. Interesting.

murky, thin white head. Lightly wheat, dusty nose, fair amount of fruit. Sugary flavor, bit of pear and green grape skin, lightly yeasty, bit of bubblegum, astringent papery finish. Thin, lightly hit and dry, and relatively low alcohol for Weyerbacher.

Bottle, thanks to Beerandblues2. Hazy light burnt orange with a lightly tan head. Apples and pears both feature in the aroma and flavor. Touch of earth and light hay. Lots of fruit though, and a bit sweet. Medium body with fizzy carbonation.
