COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed to the classic “Weyerbacher anniversary requirement” of a strength of 10% ABV or more, Nineteen fits the mold and brings a new dimension to the anniversary pedigree: tartness! Two brews were made: a high-ABV mango-infused wheat beer and a tart blending beer, both using pale and wheat malts and a blend of Belgian yeasts. The final blended beer features both tropical sweetness, as well as the tart citrusy character of a spontaneously fermented beer. Nineteen should cellar quite well. Cheers!

Intensely fruity, sweet, definitely a nice mango punch, but it kinda tastes more like a wine cooler than a real sour beer. I’d be interested to see how it ages, and it’s not awful, but a weird beer that I wasn’t in love with.

Wow. not sure what is going on here. Clear golden pour with ring of white head. Its definitely a sour. Almost more peachy than mango. Tart and citrusy, but just a hint of residual sweetness. Not something I would want again, but still interesting. Would be curious to see how this ages though.

12oz bottle pours a clear gold with some clumpy white head. Nose has a lot of fruit, perfume, tropical fruit, mild candy. Flavor is mildly sweet, yeast, guava, mango. Clean finish. Easy drinker for 10%.

Poured a clear yellow color with a small, wispy white head. Aroma was notes of light stonefruits, mango. Tropical fruit notes. Flavor was light fruit notes, some wheat character. Actually pretty tasty. Enjoyable for what it is.

12oz bottle. $2.99 a bottle. Hmm..I’ve really enjoyed the anniversary series but I’m not so sure about this one. Slightly hazy blonde orange body, thin off-white head Sugar liqueur spiked mango aroma. Just tastes too much like a "malt beverage" to me, too removed from any style, and not really satisfactory as a fruit beer or a sour. The mango is big, intense, artificial. I don’t see this cellaring well either. Not an impressive offering.

Tap. Yellow pour with white head. Smells sour with slight mango. Nice sour beer with a little bit of a different touch to it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a little head and fruit aromas that are more ps ach than mango. Flavor is kind of sweet and artificial. Not the greatest and a little metallic.

Pours hazy golden orange with a medium white head that quickly dissipated. Aroma is mango, citrus, wheat and earthy yeast. Taste is mostly tartness with mild sweetness. Medium bodied with the alcohol exceptionally well hidden. I had no idea this was a high abv until writing this.

12oz bottle from local shithole store. Pours a hazed orange with a minimal white head. Aromas of citrus fruit and Belgian yeast esters (banana/clove). Taste is sour and sweet, striking a pretty good balance. Flavors of tart citrus fruit (citric acid) mixed with a Belgian tripel yeastiness. High Fucken boost. Too heavy on the yeasty esters, I know this brewery loves to use that high boost strain of Trappist style yeast but it just doesn’t fit in this beer. Results are a mixed bag of (perhaps?) lactic acid dosed wheat beer mixed with a mango tartness. Because the sourness comes with an abundance of banana and clove and no funk at all, this tells me that it is basically a high boost wheat beer infused with food grade lactic acid and fruit. SCROLL PAST.

I was absolutely floored by this! Wile expecting more of a typical fruit infused wheat beer (as the label unfortunately indicates). I can’t think of a nicer surprise than to discover the tartness of a nice sour with mango! I was amazed that this contained 10% ABV’S... On two different days I couldn’t detect the slightest note of alcohol until I gave it time (showing great restraint) to warm up a bit the 2nd day. Even then, the alcohol simply added a nice note of spiciness rather than booziness.
