Brewed to the classic “Weyerbacher anniversary requirement” of a strength of 10% ABV or more, Nineteen fits the mold and brings a new dimension to the anniversary pedigree: tartness! Two brews were made: a high-ABV mango-infused wheat beer and a tart blending beer, both using pale and wheat malts and a blend of Belgian yeasts. The final blended beer features both tropical sweetness, as well as the tart citrusy character of a spontaneously fermented beer. Nineteen should cellar quite well. Cheers!

Intensely fruity, sweet, definitely a nice mango punch, but it kinda tastes more like a wine cooler than a real sour beer. I’d be interested to see how it ages, and it’s not awful, but a weird beer that I wasn’t in love with.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thin white head. Aroma of yeast, wheat and tart mangos. Flavor had a light tartness and acidity with wild yeast, mango, wheat and tropical fruit.

Pours slightly hazy orangish color with off white head. Aromas of wheat, tropical fruits, yeast, and booze. Sour lemon and sweet peachy mango flavor with wheat and doughy yeast. Slightly boozy. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation.

bottle @ Grassroots Natural Market / Jacksonville FL --- Slightly hazy dark amber color, good white head cover, curtain of lace. Taste is malt that is immediately taken over by somewhat sour tropical fruit, especially mango, adding citrus hops on the swallow, then moving to a medium finish. Crisp, refreshing, well-hidden alcohol, a good brew.

Bottle. Hazy orange color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of mangoes, spices, roasted malts, honey, and light alcohol. Taste of much of the same, mangoes, tropical fruits, citrus, hay, wheat, and light tartness. The sweetness does cover the alcohol pretty well.

12 oz. bottle. Hazy gold color with some bottle condition yeast suspended in it. Thick foamy head that retained well. Aroma is artificial peach and mango with a sour Belgian yeast notes.

The flavor isn’t like any barely wine I have ever sampled. It’s more like a Berliner Weisse gone wrong. Sour wheat note upfront with some acidic character.

The finish is extremely tart and gives a pucker in the taste buds. The body is medium with a almost sticky syrupy texture on the tongue. I like Weyerbacher but this is just a hot mess of a brew. Maybe some age will help???

Poured a pale orange color with light cloudyness with aromas of mango, wheat and booze. Flavors match the aromas with booziness. Interstitial overall lots of booze wheat, meh.

Bottle from State Line. Straw colored hazy pour. Fruity aroma leaps from the glass. I don’t know, I really liked it. Fruity with mango and slight wood notes. A tart end which complemented the sweetness well. Belgian yeasts notable. Very good.

I probably opened this too young. Nicely wheaty aroma with citrus and honey accents. Taste is quite sour but a little green. Would not have guesses this is over 10%, none of the cloying sweetness common for wheats at this ABV. Finish was the highlight...dry, crisp refreshing with linger of mango ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from ABC. Pours a murky golden amber with almost no head and some very thin lacing. Aroma is very fruity, mostly (obviously) mango. Taste is super sweet - almost like flat champagne. Body is very light, thin, with a super dry and lightly carbonated finish. Overall, pretty enjoyable, with a very well-hidden abv. Acquire.
