A: Pours an appropriately dark brown color with a finger and a half of tan head.
S: I can certainly tell this is a coffee beer right away. Lots of coffee aroma without much else. Some earthy notes which could be the coffee or some hops. Just a mild sweetness to the nose.
T: Mostly coffee in terms of the flavor, as well. There is a bit of a coffee grounds type of flavor to this beer. Again, only a mild to moderate sweetness with some molasses and bread being the malt flavors.
M: Medium in body with a moderate carbonation.
O: The coffee flavor wasn’t all that impressive in this beer, though it was certainly the dominant flavor component.

A reddish brown ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a nice caramel malt with light vinous notes, light hopping. In mouth, a nutty malt with chocolate beans, not bad, medium bodied. On tap at Datz, Jan. 8 2011.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark and deep amber, almost brown, color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of coffee, some nuttiness, roast, floral, and chocolate. Tastes of coffee, vanilla, coffee with cream, roast, and lighter floralness.

12 oz. bottle from zathrus13- thanks, Jeff! Pours a semi-cloudy brownish amber color that looks clearer out of the bottle but gets murkier as it fills up. Small beige head with some film and a ring that remains. Aroma of coffee, earth, toasted brown sugar, and faint roasted malts. Takes a while to get much pop out of it. Flavor of coffee, toasted brown sugar, roasted malts, chocolate, and bitter earth. Light-bodied, with a roasty mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Pretty solid, and I probably should have had it sooner.

Coffee a touch of toast and nutty notes, light sweetness also. Pours dark brownish, thin head, some auburn undertones. Flavor is coffee, light caramel/toasted nut malt sweetness, dry earthiness, with lingering light coffee ground finish. No sign of 7.3% Flavorful, somewhat interesting, cool to try.

The beer pours a brown color with an off-white head. The aroma features a ton of chocolate and coffee notes, as well as some toasted malt and a bit of toffee. The flavor is similar. I get some caramel malt and coffee up front, as well as some very dry, almost bitter dark chocolate notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Hazy brown color with a small,off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, vanilla, floral hops, some pine, nuts, and coffee. Taste of more caramel, roast, some coffee, vanilla, nuts, buttery malts, and a hoppy finish.
