Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you'll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

30th May 2008. Not particulary RIS in palate - more porterish. Mild chocolate malt, a subtle banana note and finishes with a dry and lightly toasted malt finish.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Norfolk. Black pour with a thin tan head. Rich dark chocolate aroma at first that fades somewhat into more dark fruit and espresso. Great chocolate, coffee, smoke, and roasted malt flavor. Unfortunately it’s a bit on the thin side in my opinion. Not bad by any stretch but there are better Impy Stouts out there.

12oz bottle. Pours black.Tastes of molasses and pepper. Alcohol taste is not as well masked as many of the other impys with similar abv.

12oz bottle from Trinity (Warehouse) Liquors. Pours almost black transparent with a minimal tan head. Fantastic aroma; sweet candy malts and dark fruits. Flavor is slightly burnt coffee, dark fruits, and a tad of mollasses. Thick mouthfeel, smooth, and warming on the palate. Realliy nice impy...underrated in my opinion.

Pours very dark. Looks like used motor oil! A significant frothy brown head. Beefy, but not too thick. For a stout - a rather subtle aroma - not overpowering,. I want to call this a "refined beer".

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of roasted malt, some vinous hints, sweet. Tastes sweet and roasty with some peppery splashes.

Sweet malty smell. Dark brownish pour. Taste is a tad sweet and crisp....not something I will drink again...not what I look for in a stout.

Fanatstic aroma of cofee, dark malts, and cofee. The pour looks a lit like a nitro guinness too. Unfortunately, the palate is a lot like a nitro also. It’s thin and watery. The flaovr is subdued, also. This beer is all in the aroma. Bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando.
