COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you’ll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

Excellent stout, very rich & complex flavors, another brew with that warming effect, lots of roasted malt flavors, finished a bit on the dry side, very large dark tan head, very drinkable, excellent stout

Dark as night with a large tan head. Aroma, bitter coffee and chocolate. Taste and mouthfeel, some carbonation, still very smooth, dry finish, hinting at coffee, definite chocolate flavors. Impressive.

This is a dark, tasty beer. It has a nice coffee flavor. Goes down smoothly and a very tasty brew.

Smooth and creamy with a chocolate overtone. Poured with a large 2 in. head that lasted a long time. Slightly carbonated at first but repressed appropriately into a very soft flowing stout. Good lacing and a great flavor. Strong malty flavor that is very easy to drink. Slightly smokey but very smooth. Not too sweet. A fine brew from Weyerbacher.

Quite dark with a nice and roasty coco/ coffee taste. I agree with the dry finish that others noticed. Could use a tiny bit more carbonation though. Probably one of the smoothist easist drinkin IS’s i’ve had but not as complex as others.

Black, foamy brown head, chocolate in the nose. Tastes strongly of chocolate, with a good roasty coffee presence. Quite dry, quiescent hops. Very good but not particularly complex.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2003 (re-rate) Almost black, decent light brown head and lace. Carbonation clinging momentarily to side of glass, never seen on an imperial before. Nice nose of bittersweet, milky chocolate amd roasted coffee. Medium-thick, slightly carbonated body. Smooth black malt flavor with chocolate undertones, little bit of roast with hints of dark fruit, finished a tad bit dry with flashes of alcohol and raisons. Thins out at the end which hurts it along with some detracting astrigency. But all in all, not bad. Much better on tap IMO.

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2004 Very dark with a thick brown head. Loads of caramel, butter, chocolate, and coffee on the nose. The palate is rich, malty and roasty with a burt coffe flavor that is very nice. The hops are very restrained. A good IS.

Great tasting Imperial Stout, that looks, and tastes great. This beer reminded me of Rouge’s Shakespeare Stout.
