Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you’ll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2004 (Bottle) Deep brown with a beige head. Plum, rubbing alcohol nose. Cocoa and coffee flavours with a slight gritty finish. Lovely!(4.1/5). UPDATE: Pours a brown head with an opaque body. Nose of coffee, sweet with bourbon and marshmellow tones. Very chocolaty, malty, milky smooth with red wine. Complex yet thin. (3.7/5)

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2004 A sweet coffee cavalry rides proud over rolling vineyards...A dust cloud rises behind the galloping, chocolate-hoofed brigade...Alcohol calvary is not entirely abolished but a few forthcoming sips (or bottles) of sweet molasses should rescue the ailing tongue...

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2011 2011-10-16. Black body, small tan head fades quickly. 3+ Flavour is fairly dry mild roast, over a sweeter dark malt core. Light bitterness, mild dry coffee like roast lingers into the finish. Roast and mild cocoa in the aftertaste grows as you go. Aroma is mild at first, mild roast, light metallic touch? 6+ Smooth medium body is lightly carbonated but feels light for the beer. Decent, but not really loving it. 7/3/7/3/14 Bottle aged about 9 months, from Premier Gourmet, Buffalo

2002-12-XX. Dark black colour, with deep chocolate coloured head. Powerful coffee aroma. Cofee or espresso bitterness with a tart/bitter finish and aftertaste that I did not appreciate. 5/4/6/3/12 - 3.0 Bottle, shared at Oakes’ Ratebeer Christmas Party

Deep ruby-dark brown appearance with a Large creamy tan head. Dark Chocolate and mild coffee aromas enticed my mouth which suprisingly light body.

Ive had ths bottle for prolly almost a year or somethin. Deep dark brown/black. Thick, creamy, fluffy tan head. Roasty, coffee, chocolate nose. First thing I notice is the light, velvety body. Roasty malts, chocolate fudge brownie, espresso, vanilla, meium bodied, finishing with a rosty, coffee like bitter finish, subtle hops. This is very delicious, not overly hopped, not 14% alcohol...AWESOME!

Poured an opaque black color with a very dark tan head and some lacing. Aroma of hops, roasted malt, dark fruit, coffe and chocolate. Predominant coffee and chocolate taste with a slight alcohol backbone. Full mouthfeel.

Bottle. Poured dark sable, opaque and thick with a large brown head that lingered delightfully. Aroma is burnt malts, coffee, bitter chocolate, hints of cherries, and figs. Flavor is both cloyingly sweet and sharply bitter - nicely balanced with a strong alcohol warming and mildly astringent, charcoal finish. Thick body, lightly carbonated. Nice Imperial Stout - my only objection is the "Old" in the name for a stout rather than a barley wine. But I guess I'm just being a fuddy-duddy traditionalist...

Very dark beer out of the bottle with only deep garnet colors noticable when held up to the light. Oil slick of a head with a brown ring of foam. Dusty bitter chocolate and roast coffee nose. Lots of bitter chocolate in the taste and a bitter that reminds me of chewing roasted coffee beans. I get a hint of orange liquer and balloon rubber, but mostly chocolate. Bitter, dry finish.

Bottle. Poured as black as coal with a large tan head, which dissipated quickly and left no lacing at all. A little chocolate came through in the nose. The taste was of a watery chocolate with a taste of alcohol. Less flavor and more wateriness then I was expecting. It was good, but I've had better.
