COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you’ll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

Inviting aroma, spicy, chocolatey, fruity and sweet, with notes of brown sugar, creamy mocha, charcoal, roasted barley, plum and licorice, among others. Deep ebony in color, with an intricate, fine head and delicate lacing. Flavor is roasty, grainy and sweet, with semi-sweet chocolate, smokiness, toffee, port wine, raisin and highly roasted coffee. Finish is long and warming. Thick, tangy mouthfeel. Very good. Thanks Trap.

An excellent stout. Strong roasted coffee aroma and taste. Fizzed a bit, which turned me off. But very smooth to drink and very enjoyable.

Pours a deep black with lots of bubbles that fade very fast. Strong coffee\fresh expresso aroma. Very bitter tasting and dry. After taste is a strong roasted coffee mixed with slight hints of chocolate.

aroma of instant coffee and steaming asphalt. full variety of earthy, burnt flavours and the predictable citric, pineapple hop attack, at least a little more subdued than in some of this style

Deep black, tan head. Roasty, almost like espresso. Some dark chocolate is present as well. Alcohol is well hidden. An excellent Imperial.

Nice black poor, with a thick tan head. Nice chocolaty aroma, with hints of hops and fruit. A bit roasty in the taste, but mostly chocolate with hints of coffee and fruit. A bit of hops in the finish. All together very smooth and easy to drink, with almost no taste of alcohol, surprising for an Imperial.

Wow, 2 imperial stouts in one night. Surely a great way to end my summer semester of college. I’m sampling this beer at cellar temperature (approx. 65 F). This should be interesting. Pours in a thick manner. Big bubbles, though not much of a head. Body is extremely dark (brown and amber hues show when held up to a light). Smells of milk chocolate-malt and subtle fruit hops. Nice medium to full body feel though seems a little flat. Taste is semi-sweet chocolate, subtle grape (both confirm the aroma) and a nice, slightly spicy hop finish. This is a very subdued beer, especially at this temperature. Its velvety viscosity oily oozes over the tongue; it’s really quite pleasurable. On the whole, an excellent beer from an excellent brewery.

It's been too long since I've had an Imperial stout. This brew pours a solid black with no highlights, coming out of the bottle like motor oil that's been in a '72 Impala since the Reagan administration. The tall light brown head is dense, and fully lasting with fair lacing. The nose is caramel, chocolate, spice, mushrooms, raisins, toffee, apples, oats, and flowers. The taste is very roasted and oatish. I feel like I'm having a bold honeyed oats and milk with a cup of coffee on the side. Fruity Burps! The finish is on the sweet side with a hint of burnt bitterness. The mouthfeel is thick, full, chewy, and soft...slurpable. What a treat, very drinkable and hit the spot - HARD. Could use a bit more gravity though. Enjoyed one before and during the consumption of a Tombstone Meatball Pizza last night after work...gonna be killing 'em at work tonight...Muhahahahaha!

Pours from the bottle with a dark brown to black body topped by a thick brown lasting head that leaves a good amount of lace on the glass. Slightly sweet and chocolatey malt aroma with roasty notes, hints of vanilla and licorice, and a touch of alcohol. Slightly sweet and roasty malt flavor with vanilla notes and hints of licorice and chocolate. The fiish is roasty and chocolatey. Full bodied, smooth and slightly warming.

12 oz. bottle Nice and thick like an imperial should be, but not quite utterly opaque, with a velvety dark chocolate hue. Thick brown head fades to a thin floating layer that coats the sides of the glass. Laidback aroma doesn't saturate the senses, taking a few sniffs to bring out the scents of musty wood and sugary roasted grains. Hints of banana in the burnt-chicory taste, the slightest hint of bitterness around the tongue. Oh yes, I like this beer.
