Sweet aroma, with coffee, caramel, fruit, and a slight lactic note that I might be imagining because it doesn’t show up in the flavor. Medium body, a bit thin for a stout. Flavor is lightly roasted, lightly burnt , with coffee and caramel. A good beer, just not very impressive. MrChopin (632), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 12, 2008 Pours black with strong-tan head (not quite Oak Aged Yeti, but it’s dark). Nose is sweet with huge chocolate presence and lots of roast. Flavor is similar with more roast. The palate is a little thin for the huge flavor and nose. Quite tasty, if a little one-sided. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 24, 2008 Black pour with brown head, aroma has mostly chocolate going for it, flavor is the same also has sort of a cappuccino thing going on. This is a very smooth Imperial Stout although the alcohol is sort of low for this style which is unfortunate because i think if this had a 10 or 11% ABV and was thicker it would be much more appetizing but it just seems to be too thin for this style, i guess that could also be a good thing though. Overall I enjoy it though. BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 19, 2008 Very good imperial stout. Smoother than what I expected, but still very good. Flavors of dark sweets and hazelnut were noticeable. 12 oz bottle. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA

Dark brown, edging black body with a thick, robust dark mocha head. This is a good looking beer. Head has some good retention and OK lacing. Would have been a 5 if these elements were a little stronger. Coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, dark malts and licorice make up the aroma, and the flavor profile as well. Flavor tends towards the burnt roasty malts and coffee, with some coffee sweetness and a bit of astringency. Mouthfeel is good, not great for the style. Would have liked it to be a bit more hefty, but I guess maybe that wasn’t possible at this ABV. Finish is medium length, chocolate and burnt malts, then coffee. Good beer, but just that.
