Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you'll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

Great looking nice and dart pours with dark mocha head. Roasty taste and went down very smoothly not over carbonated like some other dark beers.

Has a very good head with good retention. Chocolate tones with good soft roasty tones are present.

Pours jet black with an off white head that quickly fades to a thin layer of foam. This has a sweet nose to it with a typical imperial stout scent. The taste comes across somewhat mild with little hop bitterness. It doesn’t have that big burnt coffe taste with the massive bitterness at the end that I am used to. It is a good brew though.

no BB date but bottle has been cellared for 8 months...pours black with a cafe au lait colored head that disappears a lot faster than i expected. aroma is candy (bubblegum...like big league chew), chocolate, roasty malts and vanilla. i expected more from the aroma judging from the color! flavor is ashy roasted malts with some acidity and dryness from the roast. also, dried dark fruits (prunes), light chocolate and coffee on the finish. coffee lingers in the aftertaste as well. medium bodied with surprisingly high carbonation. like a toned down imperial stout. it’s light enough to drink a lot of in a session which is pretty uncommon for most imperials

12-14-07 bottle.
Roasted chocolate mocha aroma - with some alcohol as it warms. Pours a thick creamy black with a tan creamy head. Rich roasted flavor with a smooth and creamy texture. Some alcohol in the taste as well - again only as it really warms. Quite sweet for an imperial stout - surprisingly so. Finish is thick and sweet. Enjoyable overall!

Bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black, very nice brown head. Aroma is chocolate and malt. Flavor is again chocolate, with some roasted coffee and malt. A nice and easy stout that doesn’t clobber you over the head, very drinkable.
