Aug 1, 2007 Black body, soil colored brown head; Not to big slightly metallic chocolate fruity nose; Huge carbonation in a bit thin body, bitter slightly sweet a bit fruity; Long bitter finish, fruity with chocolate aromas. Alright but really nothing special and not that well composed.

Jul 29, 2007 Very, very nice! A well rounded Imperial stout offering with a distinctive front taste and relatively smooth aftertaste. Highlights of chocolate notes are there if focused on. Alcohol is blended well. Enjoyed from 12 oz. bottle that was aged slighltly under 1 year. Very nice indeed!

Jul 28, 2007 Pours an opaque black into the snifter. There was a big tan head and the perfect touch of lacing. The scent was of malt, chocolate, coffee, roasted barley and nuts. The taste was very malty with the perfect touch of chocolate and espresso. There was a curious metallic? hint in the back, that didn’t sit too well on the palate. Overall, a very nice, drinkable Imperial stout.

Jul 28, 2007 Pours jet black with a small tan head. Roasted coffee, licorice, and brown sugar make for a nice aroma. Big roasted malt character along with some coffee notes, just not extremely complex. Slightly bitter finish. Body is big, but not sticky or overly sweet. Good offering from Weyerbacher.

Jul 24, 2007 I am not sure if this bottle was bad or not, but this was a complete drain pour for me. Looked fine when I poured it, but the taste was awful. Intensely sweet and one sided, could only take a few sips before I poured it. I am wondering if this went bad.

Jul 16, 2007 This beer is missing something in the flavor that would push it over the top. I think it is some sort of definable fruitiness that is normally present in most beers of this style.
Pours an absolute dark brown coor with a thick fom head that really tries not to dissolve into a thinner film. Nose is Dark malts and something biting.
Flavor is malty with bits of coffee and dark chocolate. Kind of a wholesome breadiness to the beer as well. Very full body but the flavor does not stic to the cheeks as I expected. ABV is hardly noticeable but warms one up. Honestly, this would be a decent winter beer.

Jul 15, 2007 Pours thick & black with low head-activity save a half-halo and a film of beige. Aroma of cherries & wort with strong roasts & hints of the alcohol to come. Syrupy, yet thinned by alcohol driness & spritzes of carbonation. Hot flavor: heavy alcohol atop full roasts and chocolate syrup malts. Sweet yet bitter; heady & heavy... but there are smoother, more soothing & more captivating Impys out there.

Jul 14, 2007 Bottle via JB175. Dark midnight color. Smell of chocolate, malt, hops, caramel, vanilla slight roasted coffee and spice. Taste of dark chocolate, caramel, hops, roasted coffee, nuts, minor alcohol and a bitter chocolate taste at the end.
