Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you'll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

Poured a dark black color with very small tan head. Aroma was of roasted malts coffee and chocolate some dark fruits. Flavor was much the same, overwelmed by coffee. Mouthfeel was very full.

Deep, black body. Aroma of coffee, molasses, strong malts, ... Lightly bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Moderately bitter finish. Quite nice malty flavours.

Black, with a brown head. Aromas are chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and dark fruit. Flavors are roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit, coffee, and hops. This is really nice...why did I wait so long to try this???

Bottled - LCRBM2 - A pretty much black coloured beer. The aroma is massive roasted malts and some good berry fruits. A very nice inviting nose. The taste is too thin though, and in no way lives up to the aroma. It is dry in texture yet a little sweet in taste. The alcohol doesn’t show itself either. A disappointment after a truly nice whiff.

Bottle. Pours dark, dark espresso brown with an intense caramel colored head that didn’t stick around too long. Aroma is hugely roasty and malty with alcohol in the background. Coffee, dark fruit, bitter chocolate, and also some toffee, and nuttiness... rather sweet smelling despite all the other aromas. Flavor follows the nose fairly well, only mildly bitter, quite dry, almost none of the fruit and sugar I got in the nose. Nice and smoky up front and I can’t taste any of the alcohol. Mouthfeel is decent, but under-carbonated, I think. A good stout for sure, but it leaves something to be desired, although I can’t put my finger on what it is.

Very strong and sweet roasted coffee / chocolate appeal. This is another great Weyerbacher, so long as you are prepared for a bold and powerful taste!

LCRBM2: Coffee with too much sugar in the aroma. Very sweet flavor with roast and some coffee. Brown sugar. Not my favorite, just too sweet and onedimensional.

No head, pure stale coffee. And then the nose is pure coffee again! As well as an aroma of dried, unsalted peanuts. Coffee, sweet, chocolate with coffee, but not much else, the restsweetness excepted. Very titillating MF, despite no apparent carbonation. As if some organic acid were added. Not very refined. Just quite unidimensional.
