Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you'll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

I made a mistake of drinking this one a little too cold. Let this one warm up a little. (2nd time I’ve tasted it) In my Brooklyn snifter. Tan head fades. Midnight black. Notes of caramel and coffee and some piney hop notes on the nose, very subtle. Silky on the palate, cocoa, and maybe some light liqorice. The silkiness grows and the beer expands in the mouth to a very modest richness. I think this one maybe a little underrated, congruant with my first impression. Glad I gave it another try.

Bottle. Dark brown coloured with a beige head. Sweet aroma of cocoa powder and dried fruits. Flavour of cocoa powder with notes of dried fruits and acidic notes. A disappointment from this great brewery.

I must have gotten a bad bottle. Poured from a bomber a very dark brown almost black with a tan head. Aroma was of roasted malts chocolate and a hint of coffee. Not bad so far, but here is where it turns south. Flavor was all metallic and nothing else.

Black beer with a light brown head. Sweet and malty aroma with notes of chocolate and a light coffee bitterness. Roasted, coffee bitter flavor with a light chocolate sweetness.

Great, slick, oily, easy @ first then fades to the coffee/ choc. trends which then gives way to the dry/ alcoholic end. Easy for an Imp. stout, really just and all around great stout. yum

Draft from the brewery. Cheers guys! Sweet aroma, decent apperance. Taste is full and robust with plenty of character inside. Goes down smooth and a good accompainment to food. Cheers! Re-rate: After a few more samples over time I find this beer to be good but it doesn’t finish as well as it should. Also it thins out in the end.

Pours black with a reddish mocha 1 finger head. Aroma is extremely fruity and sweet...hardly any chocolate or coffee...lots of malt and vanilla...fire wood. Flavor is malty and slightly bitter...huge syrupy fruity sweetness...a bit tart and acidic too...kind of strange. Mouthfeel is way too light...watery...not very imperial.
