Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you'll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

strong n’ toasty, nice smooth finish. Malty sweetness offset by the toasty, roasty goodness- yum

A very good imperial stout. Strong, flavorful, quite roasty. Very dark. Doesn’t taste as strong as it is, though.

Pours black with a large, creamy, dark head. Standard coffee and chocolate aroma. Strong chocolate flavor, turning to espresso in the middle and ending back on the chocolate. Some lactose at the finish. Too much carbonation; this one would be great if it were a little smoother on the tongue.

Bottle from axilla. The beer pours to a dark brown body with a red hue in the light. It has a nice dark brown head with nice lacing. The aroma is coffee, figs, lactose, and cocoa powder. The flavor is coffee, dry charcoal malts, and buttery chocolate. The palate is pretty thick, viscous, drying.

Bottle. Nice ticght brown head and inky body. Aromas of fresh roasted coffee and sweet chocolate. Quite that malt medley, different coffees and chocolates swirling on my tongue. Black coffee for sure, slightly bitter chocolate Big mouthfeel, full with flavor. Alcohol in their stouts is undetectable except when it hits your head. Sessionable imperial stout?!

12 oz bottle. Black pour with a small fizzy chocolate brown head that dissipates to a thin ring quickly. Roasty/burnt malt nose with accents of coffee, bakers chocolate, and some drying alcohol. Burnt malt flavor with some coffee. Very dry roasty finish with good duration. Not much depth or complexity here, minimal hops present. Medium bodied but rather thin for an Impy. Heavily filtered and force carbonated, and it shows. Decent beer, but not such a great Imperial Stout. Add some body and bottle condition and then you might have something here.

Deep black with a frothy, tan head. The aroma is surprisingly subdued - noting some smokey and roasty aromas, but rather played down. The malts come forth more dominately in the body - with strong notes of espresso and dark chocolate. The body is well balanced - not trying to go over-the-top like alot of Imperials, but at the same time comes up a little simple and one dimensional.

Great dark pour with thick foam head that decayed nicely as I waited for it to warm up. Smell of coffee and chocolate, along with hints of smoky malts. Feel is OK; too much carbonation for me. Maybe that’s the tradeoff for such a nice head. Flavor is good. Coffee, chocolate and smoky are repeated. Slightly sour finish.
