Nejhleader (924), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 10, 2005 yummy yummy. also very drinkable. never would notice the high alcohol content. Plus there is like some mega awsome hermit dude on the bottle. I could drink an infinitiy of these. Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 9, 2005 Deep and dark red-brown with a tan head. Rich texture. Big sweetness and sourness, with notes of raisins, sugared wood, molasses and light prune. Healthy bitterness filled with roast. Hints of coffee throughout. Faint aroma of tobacco in the background. iam (369), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Oct 6, 2005 Oh man, this stuff is goooood! Pours an opaque black colour with ahuge foamy head. Awsome aromas of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Nice creamy, thick mouthfeel. Taste is also dark chocolate, roasted malt and some raisins thrown in also.Nice hop bitternes to finish. Odeed (1666), Bakersfield, California, USA Sep 29, 2005 (many thanks to slob for this bonus brew)the old heathen poured a little black body with a huge foamy dark brown head.as it sat it left super thick webbing.the aromas consisted of roasted coffee beans, chocolate, and black liquorice.the flavor was much in the same although the chocolate was more dominate.this was a little over-carbonated (as was the raspberry)but besieds that, its damn tasty! redlight (1445), Winter Park, Florida, USA Sep 26, 2005 Coffee, vanilla, chocolate aroma, sweet and roasted. Pours black with a thick brown head that disappears fast. Sweet, roasted coffee, vanilla bean, chocolate, some fruit highlights. Thick on palate. Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 25, 2005 Black with a brown head. Very nice to look at as it was to try. Light chocolate in the aroma which followed in the flavor with coffee and hops added in. A very clean drink which felt nice. Retorp (2154), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 15, 2005 Courtesy of Slob. Wonderful cocoa, dark chocolate, hot chocolate and espresso bouquet. I seldom use the word bourquet, but it fits here. Deep black with a burly dark mocha head. So far this beer smells and looks like the ideal Impy. Fore is roasted dark coffee and dark chocolate. Plesant and pervasive bitterness all the way from fore to finish. The aftertaste is a touch watery..taste wise..like the flavor drops out momentarily. .....that watery taste fades somewhat as the beer warms and is partially replaced by a cigar wrapper tobacco-like flavor. Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 13, 2005 Out of a bottle. Aroma roast and burnt malts and bitter coffee. Poured a deep pooling black with a chocolatey head. Flavor was good, roast malts bitter chocolate and coffee combined well. Palate was nice medium bodied and finished well, welcoming your next sip. This is the second time I had it and I’m glad my palate has developed enough to appreciate it.
