COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you’ll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

Pours an opaque black with a big brown sugar colored head with decent lacing. Aroma that is not very complex with chocolate and fruit. Also with a hint of tartness. Taste is of light chocolate at first followed by a surprising tart fruit skin flavor. Mid palate is dark roast, some coffee and a charred or smoke flavor, finishing with a bit of bitterness. Full mouthfeel with medium body and medium carbonation. Interesting imperial stout that is hindered by its tartness. Might be better if aged. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rich dark malts, fatty body, lovely. Roast but also dark caramel and licorice. Yummy fermentation, not quite clean and accentuating the malts without adding too much fruitiness. Good stuff! (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

’Standard’ imperial stout by Weyerbacher, with fairly thick, regularly shaped, pale beige, dense head consisting of minute bubbles and residing over a black beer more or less revealing its mahogany hue on the edge but otherwise completely opaque. Rich aroma of bitter chocolate, cappuccino, stewed beef with brown sugar, cocoa nibs, vanilla ice cream, leather, raisin, ’natural’ iron, kahlua, roasted pine nuts, whisky, candied dates, slight soy sauce, hints of cured meat, pear syrup, dry tree leaves, gravy. Restrained sweetness in the onset, candied fig, raisin and some slight green banana, sourish blackberry touch as well as a thin ’rim’ of umami, medium carbo (perhaps just a tad much for the style), very creamy, smooth, slick and ’fat’ mouthfeel, caramelly malt sweetness quickly gaining nutty and toasted bitterness and eventually becoming roasted coffeeish bitter but only gently so, very chocolatey too, paired with restrained but effective earthy and lightly spicy hop bitterishness in the end as well as a glow of warming, brandy-like but otherwise well hidden alcohol. ’Classic’ in its style, but very enjoyable; perhaps a tad less interesting than their Belgian yeast-fermented Tiny. Nevertheless very enjoyable if you like big, heavy stouts, technically perfectly executed and very (bitter) chocolatey in its overall profile - likely a good one to age, too.

Piana beżowa, drobna, całkiem ładna. Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta, z brązowymi refleksami. Aromat intensywny, słodki - głównie czekolada, praliny i marcepan.
Doskonały RIS, fajnie ułożony, z nutami porto i morzem szwajcarskiej czekolady. Jeśli zawdzięcza to wyleżakowaniu - data przydatności do spożycia to 27 październik 2015 roku - to było warto!

deep dark brown colour, surprisingly large creamy beige head; aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, herbal liqueur notes and some dried plum; taste is the same with perfect balance of malty sweetness and roasted bitterness; not among the best imp stouts, but a nice one

35.5cl bottle. Pours black with beige head. Aromas of sweet malts, licorice and a slight touch of smoke. Medium/full body, good carbonation. Taste is roasted malts, coffee and licorice. Moderate bitterness on the palate. Very nice imperial stout, bit on the light side to call it imperial in my opinion. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
