Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you'll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

yummy yummy. also very drinkable. never would notice the high alcohol content. Plus there is like some mega awsome hermit dude on the bottle. I could drink an infinitiy of these.

On the lighter side of the imperial stout spectrum. Rich, and smooth but not as complex as some. There wasn’t a lot of flavor up front but it redeems itself with a tasty, dry finish. A roasted chocolate profile that I would put in the medium category.

12 oz. bottle from Wine Warehouse. Pours a chocolate brown with a big head. Good retention but poor lacing. Aroma is very mocha with some roasted malt and toffee notes. Taste is roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Slightly bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Poured black with a thin brown head that left light lacing. The aroma finds milk chocolate back with light fruits. The flavor has that same nice milk chocolate with a good roastiness. Full body that leaves a light roast aftertaste. Enjoyable.

750->snifter: Pours a spare, light brown head that exhibits fair lacing atop a black, almost oil-slicked body. Aroma is of caramel, chocolate, and (toasted) coffee. The body is full, the texture is oily and creamy with an average amount of carbonation and an astringent finish. The duration of the flavor is long and is lightly sweet. The taste starts off lightly sweet, then turns fizzy on the tongue, then goes to being astringent--an exciting combo. One of my favorites, for sure!

Bottle - Poured a very dark black/brown in color with a small dark tan head that faded to a rim around the glass. Aroma is quite fruity (dark fruit... prune, date) with some dark malt and chocolate. Flavor is fairly strong of dark roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and dark fruit. More carbonated than I would like. Thinner than expected. Some alcohol burn noted. Finish is quite bitter and lingering with the flavor of the dark fruit hanging on. OK, but not my favorite Imperial Stout.
