COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you’ll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

Very dark opaque pour with a small brown head. A bit thick in body and lightly carbonated. Flavor is coffee, caramel and a bit of prune. A nice hop bite finishes this one nicely. Oh so dark and oh so good.

Typical black stout pour with half a finger of khaki head. Dark fruit and carmel on the nose. Prunes, raisins on the front of the tongue followed by slight carmel and finishing with a dry expresso.

Dark and delicious. Good aroma. Oaky with a good aftertaste. 8% but doesn't taste like a higher percentage beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, at home. Pours black with rich brown head. Strong, sweet aroma of toasted malt and caramel. Flavor opens smooth and nutty, developing into mild hoppiness balanced with rich malt. Coffee and fruit notes in finish, resolving into sharp, but not quite overpowering, bitterness. Medium mouthfeel, lightly carbonated. Overall, tasty and smooth, fitting for style, not crazy about the finish.

At the movies- Gone Girl. Rare to find a stout that I don’t like, but this one didn’t live up to rating. Too sweet with odd fruity notes being the prevalent flavor- raisin, plum, berries. Definite toasted malt, chocolate, espresso- everything I want in a stout- in there, but playing second fiddle. Right look/mouthfeel, carbonation for a stout, but taste really off balance for me.

330 ml bottle. Pitch black. Small light beige head. Soy sauce aroma. Oily and thick at first, but body is surprisingly light given the initial onslaught. Well balanced and very rich. Very nice imperial stout. A gentle one. Soft and enjoyable.
