Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you'll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

Pours pitch black with a small little light brown head. Big chocolate and roast in the nose. Pretty rich smelling with a big dark malt presence. The flavor is big on the chcolate and roastiness. Very thick and rich palate, with really not much bitterness in the finish nor in the aftertaste. Seems to be balanced pretty well, although it had a little sweet tartness to it towards the end that seemed somewhat out of place. Pretty good though overall.

12 oz bottle...very dark brown on the pour with a brown sugar colored foam, that doesn’t stay around...smells like very ripe bananas....so lush wow!....tastes like baking chocolate and strong mocha, and the bananas are still present...a very refreshing stout (if there is such a thing)...very little bitterness on the finish...yum

Pours mahogany into a snifter. Mocha head quickly subsides to skim surface. Deep roasted chocolate aromas. Smooth with upfront chocolate caramel with a lasting alcohol espresso burn.

rerate: not as impressed with the beer as I was the first time that I drank it. I hadn’t had a real impy stout in about a month so this was amazing, but after getting back into drinking the style its still good, but not the 4.4 that I had down originally. pours dark black with small tan head. Aroma is lot too strong but does exhibit chocolate and coffee with a hop back drop. flavor is smokey with some chocolate and coffee, and carmel notes... good but not great. smooth palate. Decent impy but that’s all

bottle. pours a very dark black with no head. strong coffee and malty aromas. medium body which thins on the sides... chocolate, malts, coffee and a slight bitterness dominate the palate. the finish leaves me a bit disappointed. an average imperial stout.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Beerlando back from our first trade of late summer / early fall. Bottles pours a very dark blackish brown thick pour with red grape juice hints and a bigger than moderate brown heade that begins to dissipate, but cakes largely. Laces well. Aromas are a nice combination of roast, creamy chocolate and caramel, mixed with a touch of hot booziness, coffee cake, and light vanilla. Initial is moderate in body for the style, picking up some good roast, coffee, chocolate, caramel and vanilla completing the "sundae" effect. There is some warming booze, but nothing too rough. The bittering roast and coffee (which didn’t make much of an appearance in teh nose) is strong, sustained, yet not overpowering. Dark fruits and smoke make a bit of an appearance further into the body. Very good all around, just lacking stand out qualities or a defining factor. Cheers!

Nice roasted flavor. Taste of caramel, cofee, a little nutty as well. Color is black, with a nutty head. Solid stout, a definite surprise.
