COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you’ll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

Pours black with a decent sized tan head. Aroma of burnt malts. taste is roasty, malty and chocolatly. Some dark fruits and a touch of coffeee. A touch of bourbon/alchohol in there also. Not bad.

Black, with a creamy coffee colored head. Aroma sweet, coffee, semi-bitter chocolate, heavy cream. Taste oddly light. Roast, some chocolate, but feels watery. Kind of impressive that an 8% beer can taste watery but there you have it. Palate definitely bares out the 8% though.

Pours black like my sin-lovin’ heart with a thin, tan head, that dissipates into a seriously misleading halo within a minute or so. Moderate lacing. Nose is not remotely hellish, but on the contrary quite divine. Notes of chocolate malt, vanilla, and a hint of anise. Taste is wickedly well-balanced: a devilishly nice hop bite with a huge malty base. This is a full-bodied little imp, mild carbonation, long alluring finish. Very tasty brew! Love it! I’m on the highway to hell...

Bottle from Great Grog, Edinburgh. This inky black beer has no head. It has very rich chocolate and liquorice flavours, leather notes and a roasted coffee, chocolate, red and vanilla on the finish. Excellent!

Bottle during a blind stout/porter tasting I had with Jenny. Dark dark pour. Notes of licorice, nice roasted malt, but something is in there I don’t quite like. Maybe a slight rice wine vinegar sort of taste. It’s pretty mild in any event. Nice complexity and sweetness. I ranked this #3 of 4, while Jenny ranked it #1.

Not bad. Not great either. Has a decent flavor but not much aroma. It's just kinda meh.

Pours a dark black with frothy mocha head that dissipates quickly. Dark fruit (plums, cherries) on the nose as well as coffee notes. Tastes of roasted coffee beans, figs, dark chocolate. Medium to high carbonation. Pinch of bitterness at the back of the tongue. A really rich imperial stout.
