molassesfan (196), Wilmington, North Carolina, USA May 30, 2007 Pours black with a decent light brown head. Aroma of minty dark fruits and roastiness. Perhaps some peppermint candy? Has a malty coffee flavor. Surprisingly thin and smooth, but 8.2% is hard to detect. Lingering coffee finish. Good stuff.
NJJereme (116), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Aug 13, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown/black color with a small dark tan head. Aromas of raisins, dark chocolate and coffee. Medium-bodied with a bitter finish. A nicely balanced Imperial Stout. The_Epeeist (918), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 10, 2008 12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a bubbly tan head. Nose is grape, cocoa and musty coffee. Creamy body with a tang. Taste is Baker’s chocolate, prune, burnt sugar and bitter grass. A pretty good stout with an odd, vegetal sourness in the finish that throws me. MaltOMeal (270), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Aug 9, 2008 12oz bottle thanks to MrChopin. Pours black with a brown head. Nose is of chocolate, fruity and roasty malt. Taste is of chocolate and coffee; some ash. Mouthfeel is medium-to-thin and smooth. Thinner than I would like from an Imperial Stout. Not bad though. Ramenen (333), San Salvador, El Salvador Aug 8, 2008 Thanks to Juancho. Drank it in Panajachel, Guatemala. Classic Dry Stout. Pours a very dark brown, with a nice tan head. Light bodied, dry, ashy and smoky. Not my favorite type of Stout, but excellent nonetheless. A_R (293), Georgia, USA Aug 7, 2008 This is a very dark pour with a quickly disipitating brown head. . The beer has a medium mouthfeel. Flavor is a dark chocolate and brown sugar. Not as overwhelming as some imperial stouts.
