COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you’ll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

Pours a very dark brown, almost black color with a caramel colored head that quickly faded away. Aroma is of malts, black licorice, slight soy sauce, chocolate, and a little roastiness. Flavor is very roasty with big time malt presence up front, chocolate, grain, oats, and more roastiness. Leaves a dry roasted malt finish. Decent stuff we got here.

Weyerbacher Old Heathen. Sweet to the malt. Caramel, toffee. Light tastes. Very smooth mouth feel. Nicely drinkable.

Bottle from Lazy Dog. Pours a deep dark opaque brown with a layer of tan colored head. Aroma of roasted malts and intense chocolates. Taste pretty similar, with the intense chocolate mellowing somewhat.

Bottle. No date. I’ve had it around a year. Poured into tulip. Black, small tan head endures. Aroma - initially sharp, yeasty and alcoholic. Settles to caramel chocolate sweetness. Body - medium, foamy, low carbonation. Taste - semi-sweet coffee caramel, yeasty, dank finish. Reminds me of Lion Stout, but a bit less complex. Good overall.

Black with a brown dense head. Coffee and liquorice on the nose. Mouth adds a pungent malty base. Full bodied, smooth and oily. Gentle alco warmth.

355ml Flasche.

undated 12 oz bottle served in a snifter. Pours dark, reddish mahogany with a small tan head. A robust stout with a solid dark malt base. Hints of coffee and plums and cherries in the surprisingly fruity aroma. Light spicy hops and smoke come out more in the taste; which is rendered less fruity, but even mor complex, than the aroma. Excellent level of mild bitterness overall, despite a somewhat sweet start. The flavor lingers a good while in the dark malt aftertaste. Other than a hint of sherry in the taste and, more so, the aroma, the 8% alcohol is well hidden. Feel: remarkably smooth and creamy. Full bodied. Slightly dry finish. O: Excellent RIS. Richly flavored and very well balanced. No burnt notes and just a hint of smoke despite the ample, dark roasted malts.

http://imgur.com/khu0LTQ - Bottle. Pours opaque black with thin tan head. Smells of oak, butter chocolate, and toasted malt. Drinks smoothly with mild lingering hop bitterness. Medium to full bodied. Tastes of booze, maple, light smoke, and chocolate.
