phishpond417 (1162), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pours a great colour. Deep black, with hints of dark red hue near the bottom. Head is tan colour, quickly dissipates but comes back something fierce with each sip. Mouthfeel is light, creamy strong, black coffee, toffee and beef jerky. Taste is great, very filling and meaty(?) Smokey is another way to describe it. Overall very tastey. Thanks Alex! Juancho (183), New York, New York, USA Jul 21, 2008 12oz bottle @ home from the Wine Seller in Alpharetta.
Pours an impenetrable black shade of brown. The head is tan, thick and with medium persistence. Wonderful taste, nice and dry, classic stout. You cannot detect one ounce of the 8%+ ABV... very well done. Weyerbacher continues to impress. SSSteve (1451), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jul 19, 2008 an opaque black under a small creamy brown head. aroma of dark chocolate, expresso, and hint of alcohol. a milk chocolate note takes the flavor with some dark chocolate and cookies and just a hint of hops. creamy palate. Guinness4Duff (429), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Jul 18, 2008 Bottle. Black pour with a big tan head. Aroma is fruity with an underlying roastiness. Flavor is fruity, sweet and roasted with a little chocolate in there. Very interesting beer. blipp (599), Grand Island, New York, USA Jul 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a cola brown head. Sweet aroma, with coffee, caramel, fruit, and a slight lactic note that I might be imagining because it doesn’t show up in the flavor. Medium body, a bit thin for a stout. Flavor is lightly roasted, lightly burnt , with coffee and caramel. A good beer, just not very impressive.
