3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz. brown bomber bottle. No freshness date seen anywhere. Poured out the same color as Budweiser. Aromas are of oak barrels, vanilla beans, bourbon, some fusels, slight banana esters, malts, sourdough bread, and cloves. Flavors are about the same as the aromas. Medium mouthfeel, thin body. Overpowering alcohols. Earthy, chalky finish. Come on, Weyerbacher, find something new to brew. Your oak barrel beers have played out, completely.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
22 oz bomber: Clear pale golden w/ a short lived white head. Heavy clove and imitation banana nose. Oaky wood notes, and hints of vanilla. Some sugary sweetness, bready malt, and bubble gum as it warms. Very little bourbon in the aroma. Taste is banana fruity, and moderate whiskey which mutes most everthing else. Some peppery yeast & clove with a dry finish & aftertaste. Very little malt flavor of which to speak. Higher carbonation, lighter body, warming m/f, and dry from alcohol content. Overall, Iím not a big fan of this style of beer aged in a bourbon barrel. The whiskey takes away too much from the other flavors and subtleties IMHO.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sparkling gold, thin creamy white head. Nice aromas of toasted vanilla, spiced bourbon, oak, butterscotch, and chardonnay, with softer notes of lemon. Tasted similar to the aroma with lots of vanilla, spices, citrus, and wood throughout, yet it never gets too sweet due to the light hop bitterness rounding it out. Medium bodied, yet still a tad thin in the mouth, light spritzy carbonation, oaky, spiced, soft bittered finish. Very nice brew that beats the pants off the standard Merry Monks...

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Yeasty, sweet pale malt flavor with light grassy highlights. Milky overtone. Similar flavor - pale malt with spicy yeast and hops.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium yellow.
Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, bread), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of vanilla, corn/whisky/alcohol (i.e., bourbon), banana, dried pineapple.
Flavor is heavily sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Seems like a bad combination to me in theory...bourbon and a Belgian tripel, that is. The execution is not bad, though, so the nose is fairly nice. Unfortunately, itís rather watery, sweet, and unfulfilling in the mouth.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Semi-translucent gold in color. Aroma is very upfront and Belgian - bright bananas, pepper, clover, citrus zest and a tinge from the high ABV. Some perfume hop nodes wafting as well. Flavor is bubblegum and ripe strawberries. Lemon citrus is upfront, with some vanilla smoothness attenuating from the barrel aging. Very subdued and calming aftertaste, interjected with a shot of pepper. Overall, one of the tastier beers to come my way. Thanks for sharing this one, hezron!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
pours a cloudy golden w/ a small white head and signs of carb on the glass. I smell wood and popcorn and butter a bit of yeast and some banannas. Palate is sweet well coating and smooth. Flavor is like bannanas on buttered popcorn chased w/ alcohol. I didnít like the overbuttering.
Thanks to Herzon for bringing this.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Thanks to Hezron! Pours to a hazy golden color with a thin, nearly non-existent white head. The aroma is vanilla, banana, oak, bourbon. The flavor reminds me of Midas Touch. Although, thereís also vanilla and butter and banana. The palate distracts me so much from the flavor (for good or bad).

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Gold, diminishing creamy white head. Smells a lot like bourbon, although with some yeast notes. Tasted a lot like bourbon cut with seltzer. Not bad, but still kind of disappointing; if I didnít like bourbon this would get a very bad rating indeed.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden body, little, if any head at all. Mildly spicy and yeasty aroma. Some banana esters present in both the flavor and the aroma. Itís not a particularly striking BSA, but its an interesting concept to have the Belgian with the Bourbon. Iím not sure it is that noticeable. Almost smooth finish, with a hint of sweetness.
