22oz. bomber. Pours a semi-clear dark copper color with a thin, white head that dissipates quickly. Heavy aromas of yeast, cherries, apples and some spice. Flavor is of sweet fruit, yeast, and some spice with a hint of alcohol. Mouthfeel is warm and soft. Nice brew.

Bomber. Poured a dark orange/red, slight white head. Sweet aroma of dried fruit, alcohol, and yeast. Flavor was sweet and malty, with plenty of dried fruits, finishing with a nice alcohol bite. Very smooth for the ABV. A nice beer.

bomber. dark ruby pour with decent head. sweet malty bread aroma. taste was sweet with dark fruits and alcohol. alcohol was definately present and very warming. mouthfeel was full and coating with a warm alcohol finish.

65 cl. bomber. Little. cloudy amber colour with a little white head. Very fruity aroma with notes of yeast, dried fruit, alcohol and plum-like. Sweetish flavour with notes of yeast, alcohol, phenol-like and ripe-fruit.

12oz bottle. aged 6-12months. vs. Weyerbacher Blasphemy, aged 6-12months. pours hazy ripe plum with fizzy off white head. when swirled for a long time a nice creamy almost tan head forms. nose is very fruity, with peach, apricot, and plum along with some english toffee notes. flavor has some rich toffee with peachy and skin of a plum notes. sweet alcohol flavor in finish that’s very warming and almost burns. mouth is syrupy and a tad fizzy. this is actually a tasty quad but is over done a tad, if they could lower the alcohol and unfermented sugars a bit this could be better. i liked this better at first, but then it started to get boring.

Sampled at the Newtown Brewfest 07 with Stegosaurus. This company is really growing on me. Ruby pour with bready aroma. Malty, hoppy and fruity tastes. Decent blend, pretty damn good.

10/19/2007: Weyerbacher Quad has a deep honey color and is mostly clear with some suspended debris. It also has a thin off-white crown/veil. The aroma is soft, sweet with plenty of alcohol (brandy?), oak (acutally it is most likely oxidation since this is a vintage bottle), thin caramel, and lots of apple and pear. It is completely appealing! At first the flavor reminds me of a high alcohol chardonnay blended with some reisling and apple cider or something. As it warms, more and more malt, fruit, and tons of apricot come through. There is a touch of bitterness in the finish. This beer has tons of alcohol in it, but it isn’t astringent nor does it burn. Actually it plays nicely with the other flavors for as much alcohol is there. At warmer temperatrues, it does start to get a touch hot and boozy, but even that isn’t necessarily a bad thing as far as this beer goes! The finish has tons of apricot flavor with a hint of white pepper. This beer has a medium body that is very smooth due to the mild, mellow level of carbonation. When warmer this beer becomes slightly sticky on the lips which adds to the enjoyment even more. Without a doubt, this is a BIG Belgian Quad that really does deliver on flavor and complexity.
