COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Massively big and delicious, QUAD is an elegant and dark ale. Rich with complexity and flavor, try savoring it after a long day or during a fine dinner. You also might enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dessert, but QUAD stands alone quite well. We recommend enjoying QUAD in a brandy snifter or wineglass so you can drink in the aroma of this fine elixir.

candy apples and honey appear on 12 ounce pour. Lots of sweet apples and sweet honey on the tongue--quite appealing. Medium body matches well. Where’s the alcohol? Wow, 11.9% must be well hidden under the sweetness. Extremely well brewed and enjoyable. Had low expectations and I was wrong.

Drank in comparisson to Dieu du Ciel Rigor mortis. Caramel in colour, more red in colour than the rigor mortis as well. moldy notes, banana bread, zucchinni and fig, beligan esters, cloves, some permanent magic marker notes in there? really light in body in comparisson...i’m surprised that this brew is almost 12 % alcohol. really? where’s the flavour? dissapointing considering it is boozy. really empty...never knew a 12% brew can be this light.

(12oz bottle) clear rich fiery amber, fine white lasting bubbles. Nose of Belgian yeast, sweet caramel, golden raisins, honey, very light alcohol, really nice blended aromas. Taste has a decent amount of alcohol, honey, spicy Belgian yeast, golden raisins, and other spices. Medium carbonation, sweet linger, and for nearly 12% abv it’s well hidden.

Dark brownish pour with slight rim of bubbles around the glass. Rich aroma of dark fruits, toffee, caramel. Some raisins. Flavor is heavy on the dried fruits and light toffee. Moderate sweetness, slight herbal bitterness. Some boozy notes. Slick on the palate. Wish it were a bit dryer. Otherwise, pretty well done.

I normally don’t go out of my way to look for quad’s but I’m glad that I was able to hunt this one down while I was in Orlando for the day. I poured it into my Delirium snifter and got a good amount of fruit in the nose. The color was brown with reddish tints. The head was pretty thin and sparse, and it quickly disappeared. The flavor was pretty sweet and somewhat tart. The carbonation was pretty good, as was the mouth feel. The ABV is pretty high, but concealed very well amongst the flavors. A damn good beer.

Very reminiscent of Brewery Ommegang’s Three Philosophers. Pours clear and amber with a full, off-white head that quickly dissipated. This medium-bodied ale is sweet, alcoholic, fruity and malty (caramel) of medium intensity and finish. Somewhat sweeter than Three Philosophers, this is, perhaps, more of an aperitif or dessert beer, yet I suspect it would hit the spot at 5:00 PM after a long day of work.
