COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Massively big and delicious, QUAD is an elegant and dark ale. Rich with complexity and flavor, try savoring it after a long day or during a fine dinner. You also might enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dessert, but QUAD stands alone quite well. We recommend enjoying QUAD in a brandy snifter or wineglass so you can drink in the aroma of this fine elixir.

Dark red/brown beer with almost no head. Sweet fruity aroma with touch of caramel. Alcohol is noticeable but not overwhelming. Oily consistency. Sweet spicy flavor. Good body. Heavily hopped. Nice entry from Weyerbacher in the Abt/Quad category.

Smooth pour with no head. Hazy appearance; dark amber-y brown. Light, sweet aroma, more delicate and airy than darker, heavier quads. Caramel, doughy notes on the tongue. A smoother feeling quad; although even stronger than the GD 4000, you would never guess it.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber body under a minimal fizzy beige head that completely vanished rather quickly. The nose is super sweet with tons of fruitiness and a moderate alcohol vapor. Really intense aroma. The flavor is equally sweet with tons of candi sugar and a hefty fruitiness of plum and raisin. This really needs to be aged quite a long time so that the fruitiness and sweetness dies down some. I’ve had some very aged bottles of this and it greatly improves with long periods of aging. Sticky and clingy with lots of residual sugars, making it rather cloying. Soft minimal carbonation. Not bad, but no where near the Belgian classics, and short of quite a few American examples as well.

Pour the 12 oz bottle into my Belgian snifter, I see a clear red-brown ale with a small, bubbly and very short-lived head. Aromas of raisins and dates emerge, mixed with some alcohol esters. Flavor: dark fruits, a hint of banana, traces of brown spices, fruity alcohol. Feel: smooth and very gentle for 11.8% ABV, but warming. O: a tasty Amer. quad with good complexity and balance, and a much higher ABV than the flavor indicates. .

bottle pour at least a few years on it..pours a medium brown red color..slight head and carbonation..nose is dark fruit laden with cherry...molasses..brown sugar soaked raisin...faint spice notes in there as well..mouthfeel is amazingly medium bodied for being an almost 12% beast..taste is a match to the nose that is not boozy at first..but does have some warmth on linger..pretty tasty but seems to be missing some depth and complexity...alright

Sample at the brewery. Pours brown with off-white head and decent lacing. Fall aromas--hay, brown sugar, sweet malts. Sweet malts, caramel, vanilla. Awesome.

Shared 12 oz. bottle, poured to snifters, and showing a clear, copper hue, with a modest layer of off white/light tan, bubbly head foam, and spotty lacing. The nose was sweet, lightly spiced, cherry, and tartness. The body was medium+ with soft carbonation, and alcohol that was mellow but warming. Smooth on the palate, not overpowering, but harmonious subtlety to the flavor notes.

Malty and slightly fruity...strong alcohol...not much else besides strong taste and malt

Very sweet, lots of brown sugar and Belgian yeast spiciness, maybe some ginger, and a hint of dried fruit. Not overly carbonated, but it seems to be almost "dancing", for lack of a better word, on the tongue. I can’t really describe the "dancing" mouthfeel, but I like it.

Pours an opaue amber/ruby with a thin tan head. Aroma has slightly boozy fruits...plum, prune, date. Flavor follows suit and adds earthy/leathery hops and light spice. Mouthfeel is medium/full and the finish is dry, earthy/leathery, and spicy.

Aroma - sweet dark fruited malt with spice Appearance - the body is deep caramel-colored, and with a tight white head about 3" high. It fades and is a halo after Taste - the beer tastes sweet, with dark fruit, spice, vanilla, and orange peel (perhaps curaçao) Palate - the body is more thin that medium. Texture slick. The carbonation average. The finish long and strong with that alcohol burn
