750 ml bottle from michael-pollack- thanks again, Pollack! Pours a hazy mahogany-amber with a small eggshell white head. Aroma of berries, red grapes, oak, and some lemon- very dry. Flavor of berries, balsamic, chocolate, leather, lemon juice, sweet malts, toffee, and peaches. Medium-bodied, with a tart, dry mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Lot of tannin character. Solid sour.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 dfhhead25 (96) - Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 6, 2012
Aroma- big light fruits, mostly strawberries and raspberries, funky
Appearance- dark red, borderline brown, large, dissipating white head, high carbonation
Taste- crisp, effervescent, champagne-like characteristics, strawberries, raspberries, funk
Palate- decent body, very high carbonation, very drinkable
Overall- A nice sour, especially for someone who isn’t, for lack of a better term, wild about them. The berry qualities are quite pleasant and the drinkability is quite high. On par with Supplication, imo.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Thorpe429 (3565) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - FEB 4, 2012
Bottle courtesy of yourefragile. Served in a Mikasa tulip.
Pours a red-amber color with a good off-white head and a bit of lacing. The nose carries some cherries and oak plus a bit of an acetic character behind the lactic acid. Flavor ramps up the acetic character a bit more; not surprising given what Riserva is normally like. Light-medium body with oak and acetic acid. Not the best sour, though not awful.

Dirty brown with no head. Smell is grapey barnyard funk, and that’s it. Sour, slightly bready taste. Really sticky, kind of boozy.

Pours a clear ruby color with a thick tan head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma has tart soury notes...vinous with mild leathery funk...hints at sour cherry and oak. Flavor has nice vinous soury notes, mild oakiness, and a faint hint of tart fruits and balsamic vinegar. Mouthfeel is light and silky with a dry, soury fruit finish that has a faint acidic burn. Wow.
