Rapture is upon us! It’s a 6.7% American Wild Red Ale that has undergone 100% of its fermentation and 18 months of aging in pinot noir wine barrels on a collection of micro flora that has created wonderful flavors of berry fruits, oak and a pronounced, yet quite pleasant tartness. The acidity is rounded out with a muted vinous quality, satisfying maltiness and effervescent mouthfeel that is sure to bring you joyful ecstasy.

Bottle courtesy of MrChopin, thanks! Murky amber color, large beige head. Aroma of barnyard animals and cereal. Taste is more than just soft sourness, as well as stone fruits and a citrus edge. Very nice.

Säuerlicher und kirschiger Holzbeginn. Die Säuerlichkeit ist dabei angenehm und steigert sich nicht mehr, das Bier ist weich und ausgewogen. Fruchtig, noch etwas holzig im Abgang. Gut! 8/12/12/12/11/11

Bottle, 75cl, at TFODRBSG-12. It pours a more or less clear body, amber in color and with a small, off-white head. Sourish, almost vinegarish nose with some berries and dried fruits. Vinous aroma with vinegar, dried fruits, berries and some notes of caramel. Full-bodied and with some warming notes, rather tart. Lasting finish. Certainly a beer I like, but I still think it lacks a bit on complexity. Like that it’s quite low in ABV though. 120818

Pours a murky dark amber color with a small off-white head. A bit of sour cherry aroma along with some vinegar and damp, musty oak. Rather bland on the nose and the flavor. There is a little bit of tartness, but it’s somewhat sweet and bready. Mild acetic qualities and a definite mustiness.
