Ungstrup (10419), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 25, 2004 An opaque black beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is powerful of coffee and chocolate, while the flavor is of roasted malt, raspberries, coffee, and chocolate, but the body is thin. omhper (9704), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 21, 2002 Dark brown. Sweet raspberry smell. Early raspberry aroma interrupted by roastiness and licorice. Interesting and in fact rather tasty. Unusually tasy fruit beer.
Papsoe (9242), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 21, 2006 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of xproudfoot. Very dark - almost pitch black - with a warm, reddish hue hidden underneath. Small, dense, beige head. Lovely raspberry aroma, almost entirely overpowering the roasted malt. Surprisingly the beer only appears medium-bodied with the fruit softening some of the sharp, burned edges so often found in impys. The result is a surprisingly soft and pleasant experience. An underlying tartness is to be detected. 171106 Oakes (6529), Miami Beach, Canada Jan 22, 2001 Great balance - like raspberry sorbet topped with melted chocolate and whole coffee beans. Now that's a dessert beer. sk8viking (5995), Copenhagen, Denmark Dec 6, 2005 Bottle. Black colour with a big baige head. Roasted, dusty, berries aroma and a sweet sour berries, dusty taste. Medium body and a sour dry finish. This beer would have been good with out the berries.
