Bottle from the brewery. Pours a cloudy copper with grapefruit hues, nice frothy head, little lacing. Interesting, complex aromas from the fruit and brett--sour mixed with sweet, floral notes, raspberry, cherry. The brett hits your palate immediately, but itís followed by some hints of sweetness on the back of the tongue before ending on a stiff bitter note. Decidedly sour but balanced with the dark fruit and citrus.

2011 vintage..bottle pour..caramel ruby like color..active pop from cage and cork and decent head that dissipates..nose is solid with all types of complexity from the brett..funk..tart..vinous..raspberry..medium bodied on the mouthfeel with good initial tartness backed up by some warmth and oaky goodness from the barreling..quite an interesting interplay here with the fruit, tart, barrel action all helping to craft a nicely complex american take on a wild ale..well done indeed..

Bottle care of thepeter at The Kernel. Colour is rusty, cloudy, touch reddish, orange. Nose is musty, sour, tart, leather, funkiness, fruity, mellowed soft raspberry juice, over ripe raspberry. Taste is soft mushy raspberry , tart sour acidic, sour green apple, musty raspberry, funkiness, raspberry tannin. The raspberry has mellowed and the tartness is nice and acidic.

2012 vintage, 750ml bottle into a tulip. From notes. A: Pours a hazy pinkish color. Thereís about one fingers worth of white colored head, and it retains pretty well for a 11.4% sour. No lacing, expectedly, but there are some (faint) alcohol legs. S: This freakiní smells like a kick in the teeth. The tartness from the aroma is twisting my nose around - so are the oak tannins, to a lesser extent. I even get raspberry, but holy crap, is it ever playing second fiddle to the acidic attack. T: Yíknow, for a second, this has a nice blend of raspberry and cream...then the sour shock takes over the finish. This is brutally tart, in a good way. But you know what stuns me? Itís 11.4%, and there isnít a hint of alcohol anywhere. This will satisfy a sour craving - and then some. M: Dry and tannic, with some dryness and tannic qualities, backed by more dry tannins and even some tannic dryness! All this dry tannic-ness covers the alcohol superbly...and the carbonation, for that manner. I didnít even cop out and write down "meh, medium carb." like I normally do during the note-taking process. O: No doubt, this is among the tartest beers Iíve sampled. Itís a really nice brute-force sour - it isnít particularly sophisticated or complex, but it brings all the tartness I like, without being moronic. Well okay, itís a bit moronic, and thatís exactly why I find it so charming.

Found a bottle in the Ft Myers Total Wine labeled 2012. Split with brother in law. Very tart and acidic, raspberry flavor, alcohol is really not noticeable. Other than a little heartburn later on, I really enjoyed this beer, although I am far from an expert in this style.

750 mL bottle labeled 2012. Poured into a Chimay glass. Pours a ruby red color, turns a little amber at the edges. Very brief and thin white head that settles into the center of glass. Plenty of carbonation. Aroma is strong - fruit, raspberry, oak, sourness, acidity. Tart sour taste with some fruit in the background and a medium body mouthfeel. There is a brief sweetness in the finish. Iím not fond of sour/fruit beers, but I gave this a try, it was worth it.

Hazy reddish body, pinkish-white head, spotty lacing. Raspberry, oak, acetic vinegar, creeping citrus. Medium bodied, aggressive acidity, lingering finish.

Pour is ruby/amber with no head. Aroma and flavor are both slightly acidic with notes of raspberry, sour funk, oak, vinegar, and yeast. Alcohol is well hidden behind the sourness.

2012 bottle, shared with my family over Christmas. Poured a deep reddish brown and was quite tart with a nice fruit finish. Iíd only had small shares of this beer in the past and it was nice to get a full 2/3 bottle of it. Fizzy with a little bit of funk, but overriding fruits, mostly raspberry. Good stuff.
