3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Spirits Lacey. Pours out a cloudy, orange/golden color with a small lacing white head. Aroma is of fruity, earthy saison yeast, grain, citrus zest, pepper and some light alcohol. Taste is lemon zest, light sweet fruity notes, heavy peppercorn, berry, yeast, and some lingering light alcohol in there. Overall ABV is well hidden, and the beer lives up to its promise...a saison on steroids.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours golden honey in color with no head. The aroma brings some sweet booze notes and almost berry malts. The flavors bring similar sweet boozy syrupy malt flavors on a fairly thick body. Not spciy as expected, almost like agolden barleywine.

Draught sampler. Definitely grapefruit here. Still very complex and enjoyable. Recommend highly.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This smells a little off and looks like orange juice. It has the taste of a tripel with a lot spices added to it. I enjoyed it more than some other typical saisons because it was less "barnyard" and more peppery, fruity and sweet.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle poured into glass. OK so I’ve tried a few of these beers before (15,16 etc) most have been good so I was expecting this one to follow suit. For a saison orange/lemon peel is pretty common so I wasn’t really blown away by the aroma/flavor but the ABV is masked very well here. 10.5ABV for a saison is pretty damn high.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
spicy, yeasty, citrusy aroma true to the saison style..so is the cloudy yellow body and the creamy white head..the taste is citrus, spice, and a bit of alcohol to go with the background maltiness, lemon and grapefruit flavors predominate..somehow is light on the palate and very easily drinkable and refreshing especially considering the abv..overall a terrific strong summer beer

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz 4pack from Spirits Brick. Poured the same color as apple juice with a smaller foamy off white head that fades fairly quickly but does leave a ring of foam around the edge of my glass. Aroma of pepper corns, citrus, bubble gum, Belgian yeast, dry toast, uncooked dough. Very carbonated with strong tingly carbonation, a fuller body and a dry finish with lots of warming down my whole throat. Flavor of pepper corns, bad lemons, dry grapefruit, yeast, hint of cardboard, toast, bubble gum and lots of alcohol. Not bad but come on Weyerbacher you didn’t "obliterate" the style of Saison you simply brewed a Belgian strong ale, saisons aren’t supposed to be 10.5%.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a beautiful take on a great style. Definitely a little sweeter and heftier up front than the style would normally permit, but this is America, that is what we do.
The fruit comes through, but so does a fair amount of earthiness, especially as the beer warms. Sweetness fades and gives way to the pepper and a dry finish.
A very welcome summertime beer, I need to stock up with a case. Just be careful, I caught myself wondering how the beer could possibly be 10.5%, . . Dangerously drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Total Wine, Fairfax 12oz ($4.50): Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head. Looks like a saison. Smells like a saison: more hops, more spices, and a noticeable malt backbone, along with a hefty dose of farmhouse funk. Taste is much the same. I want to first point out that the alcohol was very well covered. Taste is somewhat sharp. I think that the pepper and the hops work well together. Malt backbone is heavier than most saisons, but I wouldn’t guess that the alcohol content was so high. So basically, this was a lot easier drinking than it perhaps should be. This is for sure an interesting take on one of my favourite styles.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy golden yellow pour thin white head ... aroma of fruity saison yeast and some spicy peppercorn .... Taste is a little boozy and of fruity saison yeast, nice spicy bite from orange and lemon peel with peppercorn zest ... Pretty bitter and spicy brew with some abv heat ... spicy dry lingering bite in the finish ... medium to heavy mouthfeel ... Interesting take on a high abv saison
