COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seventeen is a Saison Ale brewed with pink peppercorns, orange zest, lemon zest, and grapefruit zest. Brewed to the classic “Weyerbacher anniversary requirement” of a strength of 10% abv or more, Seventeen weighs in at a style-obliterating 10.5% abv. Seventeen releases subtle notes of fruit, berry and pepper upon pouring. You’ll notice a balanced sweetness with a touch of citrus and spice with a dry and peppery finish.
Seventeen is a once-and-done release only and will not be here for long! This style of beer should age very, very well. Be sure to get some before it’s gone!

Hazy golden colored pour. Slim layer of white bubbles. Some lacing. Aroma reminiscent of an infected beer. Some citrus notes. Taste is a sweet citrusy malt. Slight bitterness. Tastes way better than the aroma.

12 oz. bottle. Hazy orange color, with a thin off-white head. The aroma is orange slices, white bread, strong sugar, overripe bananas, and syrup. The flavor is stickily sweet, with some very light bitterness. Light to medium body, very sticky, and sugary. Overall, this is a big, sticky saison.

Delicious! Rich and flavorful, with copius fruit and spice notes. Just bitter enough. Very small head.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy orange, moderate peppercorns, light bubblegum, lemon, grapefruit, and alcohol. It pours a hazy, bordering on cloudy, yellowish-orange with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin ring. There’s some minimal thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate citrus with a touch of bubblegum. Alcohol is very noticeable in the finish in flavor and heat. It’s way too much for me in this style of beer. There’s also some light peppercorn, apple, and grapefruit. It’s medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, just way too much alcohol and it’s not working in this "imperial" Saison.

Burnt citrus peels and yeast funk fill the nose. Probably the strongest beer of this type I have had. Hazy orange, pretty obvious that it’s aged a year. Mean sour-puss bitterness, which is the only thing hiding the strength, as there’s very little malt. No, just lots of citrus booze. I also can’t imagine it doing well with long term aging. Not really heavy but filling. Even the clean hitter strikes out sometimes.

A little sticky on the palate. Definitely sweet, but not too bad. Tastes fruity but cannot nail down which fruity. Really tastes like a Belgian triple with abut too much candied sugar. Good but not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours an orange yellow with a slight white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast and some citrus. Some white lacing down the glass. Oily feel but nothing special.

Fabulous spicy sweet flavor. This is excellent. I just saw it was retired and am now disappointed.

12oz bottle, from Jungle Jim’s in Eastgate. Hazy yellow orange color. Yeast chunks in the bottom. Thin white head. Couple dots and ropes of lace. Very nice zesty, citrusy flavor, light spice. Some baked banana bread. Love the taste, assertive, light bitter, lot of zest, pleasant amount of alcohol twang, and the perfect level of sweet. Bigger body. Light, kind of crisp carbonation. Surprisingly easy to sip. Awesome, bold saison. Drinking great at the moment

Traded bottle floating around the cellar (had no idea this had so relatively few ratings or I would have rated it earlier). Pours a hazy gold color with a bubbly white head. Lighter than expected aroma of fruit and yeast. Wow, the flavor something akin to an imperial saison. Flavorful but a little too booze forward for me.
