Seventeen is a Saison Ale brewed with pink peppercorns, orange zest, lemon zest, and grapefruit zest. Brewed to the classic “Weyerbacher anniversary requirement” of a strength of 10% abv or more, Seventeen weighs in at a style-obliterating 10.5% abv. Seventeen releases subtle notes of fruit, berry and pepper upon pouring. You’ll notice a balanced sweetness with a touch of citrus and spice with a dry and peppery finish.
Seventeen is a once-and-done release only and will not be here for long! This style of beer should age very, very well. Be sure to get some before it’s gone!

My bottle [12oz] shared with HogTownHarry & biegaman. Pours a hazy orange-copper with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Aroma is spicy, yeasty and fruity along with some wheat and alcohol. Flavour is herbal and yeasty along with some sugary sweetness, alcohol and some spices in the finish. Medium bodied. A bit boozy but it’s still a pretty good beer.

12oz bottle shared by blankboy with me and biegaman. Imperial saison? Why not! Hazy gold - alcohol, spice, coriander, alcohol - taste follows - average body, strong carbonation - solid. sorry, short rating.

Richmond 19th. Hazy gold, aroma is banana and spice, faint rubber. Flavor is a match – but rubber missing – nice. Better than I had expected based on recent anniversary beers from these guys.

RG 19. Bottle. Hazy yellow with light head. Almost banana-y, almost bubble gummy, but lighter. Maybe cloves. Slightly rubbery but not in a bad way.

Sampled at the Richmond Gathering 19. Almost clear pale yellow with ring of bright white head. Orange peel, lemon peel, peppery, spicy, sweet, honey, vanilla. Complex, but with the lemon citrus bitterness to finish. Good, not great.

12 ounce bottle shared by Butters at the 19th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a hazy lemon color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of bread, honey, spice, citrus. The taste is stone fruits, spice, citrus, herbal hop finish. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness. Nice beer.

A hazy straw color with a lot of sediment. Very little head or lacing. Sour aroma that mingles with the pepper and some citrus and sweetness. Starts somewhat sweet, some funk becoming apparent and also the spicy pepper. Grapefruit and lemon undertones with also just a bit of alcohol that shows up in warmth more than taste, which is impressive for the 10.5 ABV. Big flavors and aromas. Medium/high carbonation and medium mouthfeel. A little lingering aftertaste but not much. Good beer but too big to have to often. Bought at Beertopia. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
