3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - this one I got at New Beer Distributors in NYC. Pours mostly clear gold with a frothy white head. Aroma holds doughy white bread, lemon meringue, hints of straw. Medium sweet flavor with lots of pale bread, herbs, yeast, semi-dry citrus. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with further yeasty, doughy pale malts, subtle spices, hay. Strong but pretty tasty overall.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Capone’s. Poured a cloudy / murky yellow color with a small sized white head. Citrus dominates - rinds, zest, with some pepper / spicy finish. Alcohol overall hidden, but I found this one to be all about the citrus zest.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy golden looks, with a minimal ring of a head, Bush glass. Booze exuded in the aroma. Above average mouthfeel, at first I am getting a strong ale/barleywine, at finish I am getting a grapefruit kiss.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
355mL from Grassroots Market is Jax, Fl. Thanks drowland for the gift card! Pours a low haze deep golden to light orange color. Yeast in suspension. Medium white foam. Nose is a bit stale, squashy hops, heavy dried apricot, estery/yeasty, green olives, salty olive/caper. Taste is warming alcohol up front, dog breath, spices, more dried apricot, chalky yeast. Palate is denser for style, some minerals and fruit juice. It’s all over the place, but 10+% is ridiculous for saison. Should be moved to Belgian Strong Ale. "Style-obliterating" in the sense that is has destroyed everything this style stands for? Yes, mission accomplished.
