3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours deep dark brown almost black with a sudsy frothy khaki head that dissipates to a thin soapy film and lingering lacing. Aroma is rich roasted malt some licorice coming through and underlying coffee/cocoa scents. Not really any noticeable honey scents. Taste has more anise/licorice flavors with honey roasted malt slight smokiness and hidden coffee peanut brittle some chocolate/toffee. Palate is full slightly sticky good carbonation and a warming dry finish. As this warms the honey really shows well along with some spice and alcohol. Pretty tasty!

Not sure I realized this was mead until I went to rate this. I assumed it was American Strong Ale. Pours deep dark brown with a light tan head. Scent is molasses and booze. Medium heavy body with more carbonation than I expected. Flavors starts out sweet and stays sweet. Draft - Brick Store Pub - Decatur, GA

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Brick Store Sweet Sixteen Party. Dark pour, with next to no head. The aroma is sour cherries, molasses, black bread, and strong honeysuckle. The flavor is very sweet, with a little sour note in the finish. The body is medium, silky, and very acidic. Overall, this is a strange, sour, but tasty beer.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This has been cellaring the for some time now. Lots of honey and alcohol notes on the aroma. First tastes are of malt, deep complex malt, honey, barley sugar, chocolate, toffee, caramel, and raisin. The sweetness of the honey lingers and takes for a nice little journey. A little bit of a warming alcohol on the tongue adds to a creamy, chewy mouthfeel. Love this ale. Great beer overall.
