Commercial Description:
Slam Dunkel was a small batch release in 2007. We had such an overwhelming response that we had to put it in the seasonal rotation. We also decided, as brewers, we couldn't live without drinking this beer every year! This 7% Double Dunkelweizen is unfiltered and made with over 50% wheat malt along with pale, munich, and a touch of chocolate to give it the traditional color and flavor. Bitterness is subdued to allow the Weihenstephen yeast to shine through with those traditional notes of banana and clove. Available in June in bottles and draft. Recipe by Chris Wilson, Head Brewer.

Bomber poured into a tulip glass. Pours cloudy dark brown with minimal off-white foamy head. Aroma of sweet malt, tart apple, spices, and dark fruits. Taste is sweet, with a nice tart fruit bite. Light/medium mouthfeel with mild carbonation. Very quenching and an easy drinker.

Bottle Pours a muddy brown with a lasting tan head. Has a sweet aroma of malts and a bolona hints. Has a good carbination. A nice sweet flavor. Good blending. Nice mouthfeel. A pretty good finish. Its like a kicked Belgian. Good finish and a oily texture. This is a good beer. It could become alittle sweet for me but has really good flavors.

VERY GOOD A SWEET SMELL WITH A SLIGHTLY BITTER TASTE. A LITTLE BIT OF BANNANA, CHOCOLATE, WITH A WHEAT BASE. IT IS DEFINATELY WORTH A TRY.

(bottle - 22 oz) Murky brown pour with a bit of off-white head that fades quickly. Aroma is grainy and malty with a light hint of bananas and cloves. Flavor has a good amount of cloves and chocolate at the front that blends well with some wheat and bananas in the middle. The finish is slightly spicy and wheaty with some good hints of chocolate, bananas, and alcohol.
