Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Feb 26, 2009 22oz bottle 2/26/09 (Knightly Spirits)-Pours a cloudy brown with a decent off white head which dissipates rather quickly. Taste of banana, clove, fruity, and chocolate. This medium bodied brews aroma is better than the brew as I am not getting all the flavors I would of expected from this beer. Still a decent tasting brew. BrianDorry55 (117), Spring Hill, Florida, USA Feb 23, 2009 22oz. bottle from Trinity Liquors in Spring Hill, FL. Pours a very cloudy medium brown. This off-white head and lasting carbonation. Fantastic aroma of sweet dark fruits and citrus as well as a hint of alcohol. Flavor is mostly citrus fruits and some plums. Decent amount of alcohol present. Kind of a sticky medium mouthfell but a nice warm finish. Overall I really like this and I think it deserves alot more respect...One of the better aromas Ive come across. Kind of reminds me of Chimay Red. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA Feb 22, 2009 This was an interesting beer to say th work.e least. The aroma was weird, it kind of smelled like a muddy forest just after it has rained. The spices that hover over the malts are weird as hell too. Idk what they were but I do know that they were odd and didnt really. Not much of a fan. mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 17, 2009 [1822-20081022] 1pt6floz bottle. Smells like "gym bag" and old plastic, with some new sneaker thrown in and a hint of chocolate. Murky, dark brown red body with a quick foamy light tan head. Fruity strawberry malt flavour with thick banana/plantain cream throughout and some plastic notes. Medium body. Too much plastic, otherwise fair.
(c/o blankboy, w/ him, garthicus, HogTownHarry, jerc) kujo9 (1077), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA Feb 17, 2009 6/26/08 22 oz bottle from Lighthouse Beverage in Surf City NC: Chestnut brown, cloudy body w/ a lasting light beige medium sized head. Cleove, banana, and wheat malt aromas all present and accounted for in this one. Hints of roast, caramel, and vanilla as well as lightly toasted malt presence. The clove/banana combo is a bit medicinal for some reason at first, but goes away after about half a glass. Wheat malt is also strong but has just a hint of roast in the flavor. Dry finish w/ a lingering clove and banana aftertaste. A touch of acidity to help the balance. Also very lightly bready. Smooth and creamy m/f, a touch acidic leads to dryness at the finish. Medium body, medium CO2. I’d like this to be a bit more carbonated, but it’s a decently well made beer! All the classic flavors/aromas are present and makes for an enjoyable beer. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Feb 7, 2009 500 ml. Deep copper-brown with a quarter-inch head that tries to last. Metallic caramel, cherry and slight cocoa on the nose. Initial flavor is caramel, clove-banana, toasted nut shell, and dark cherry. Finishes with some chocolate, oak and alcohol. Medium body is not quite smooth, with some acidic tingle and slight dryness on the finish. Alldaydrinker (557), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA Feb 5, 2009 Pours a dark hazy brown color with a medium frothy offwhite head. Nose is sweet, toffee, clove, lots of banana and yeast. Initial taste bangs off with banana over the mouth, caramel lingers in the background. Clove and dark fruits become more apparent into the finish. Finish is dry and resiny. Interesting brew for sure. Medium body, average palate duration and head retention. mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Feb 4, 2009 Pours a dark maroon color, with a medium, light tan frothy head. Smells of sweet dark fruits, toffee, caramel malt, banana, and candy sugar. the flavor was pretty fruity sweet, with good doses of th candy sugar coming through with just traces of the banana and wheat esters in the background. Seems like good carbonation, although maybe a touch too sweet for my tastes for this style. I would say just average.
