COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We have made this release of our Brewer’s Select Series in time to help you enjoy your holidays. It is a festive combination of malts, Belgian yeast, and cherries. This dark chestnut brew has a nice caramel malt character, a tart cherry fruitiness that carries throughout, and a nice warming finish. As with all of our Brewers’ Select beers, Tango is available in draft at awesome Weyerbacher-supporting bars and restaurants and is made available in 12oz bottles at Weyerbacher’s Visitors Center only. This is a once and done limited release. Tango is the letter “T” in the NATO / phonetic alphabet. Belgian-Style Dark Ale brewed with cherries 9.6% ABV, 21IBU

Location: 750 ml corked and caged bottle from Buy Rite, 6/11/15

Aroma: The nose is tart cherry juice, some spice, yeast, a little raisin/fig, and mild medicinal notes
Appearance: It pours a dark ruby-brown color with a small beige head and some light streaks of lace
Flavor: More sweet than the nose suggests, tartness, spice, and those medicinal notes on the close
Palate: The body is light-medium, more fizzy than not, with a lingering, slightly puckering finish
Overall Impression: If there’s one thing I know about this beer: Dave would hate this. As for me, I thought it was okay. I’d probably have enjoyed it more if not for two main issues: Issue #1 - The odd medicinal notes that makes both the aroma and flavor feel flawed. Issue #2 - The mouthfeel is just off here. There’s too much carbonation and not enough body.

Appearance is dark red with a thin but long lasting white head and active legs. Aroma of candied sugar, vanilla, biscuit, and toffee. Flavors of dark fruit, rum, toffee, and a slight tartness from the cherry. Simple beer, with high drinkability, and the ABV is masked well.

750mL bottle. Poured dark amber with a nice, creamy beige head. The aroma picked up dark biscuity malts, raisins, and overripe banana with accents of cherry dust and peppery yeast.. warm on the back of the nose. The flavor found biscuity malts, raisins, molasses, and a little brown sugar at the core, with prickly carbonation, cherry dust, black pepper, and rye around.. banana and chewy dark biscuits plus light tart cherry on the finish. Heavy-bodied with a bit too much carbonation on the palate.. OK feel and flow.

Brownish pour, tan head. Fruity, figs, dates, cherry, caramel, spice cake, fruit cake, toasted bread. Nice beer.

(cork & cage bottle) Aroma of boozy cherry. Deep cherry complexion with lasting thick head. The flavor is pretty boozy with somewhat bitter cherry. Not much Belgian yeast or malts noted. Not the best from this brewer.

Aroma of cherry skins and rasin and figs. Taste is slight sweet and a little cloudy. Slight sweet finish but lots of flavor and nice overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 ml. Slightly cloudy copper-brown with a lasting film of cream. Aroma is spicy toffee, raisin bread and some dry cocoa. Tastes of raisin toffee, clove-spiced dark bread, more dark grape than cherry, and some faint touches of cocoa and char. Medium body is smooth with light-medium carbonation and has a nice balance. Extremely light touch with the cherry, but that’s OK by me. Still a nice take on a higher abv dubbel.

Pours a dark brown with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast and some fruit. Flavor is slightly tart cherry and sweet Belgian yeast. The cherries are barely prominent, but that’s probably a good thing. Overall pretty good.
