3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast and some fruit. Flavor is slightly tart cherry and sweet Belgian yeast. The cherries are barely prominent, but that’s probably a good thing. Overall pretty good.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Too rich for the taste/aroma. I understand the high ABV brews...but want cleaner flavors, less body, with my brews.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearing grapefruit red, off white lace. Smell is chocolate, toffee, cola cherry, banana. Taste is bitter and sour cherry. Very astringent, fruity sweet and tart/earthy. Lots of cherries. Sweetness notes are paired well with the high alcohol content.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2015 Not a very pleasant experience. When i find a beer that states it is brewed with an added ingredient, such as cherries, I expect that ingredient to be somewhat featured. I struggled to find a significant amount of tart cherries here. Found the overall experience to be rather abrasive and offensive.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours brown, with thick, frothy head and substantial lacing. Sweet, fruit aromas. Tart taste, characteristic of dark fruit, plenty of caramel and sweet malts. Creamy mouthfeel. An oddly sweet dark ale.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: deep brown, slightly cloudy, creamy tan head that quickly shrinks. Aroma: prominent maraschino cherries, candi sugar, light molasses and brown sugar, Belgian yeast, a bit of leather and pipe tobacco. Taste: as the aroma indicated. Finish: smooth and slightly yeasty, with a lasting, slightly medicinal cherry kick. Notes: Generally a fine Belgian dark ale, with reasonably hidden alcohol. Cherry notes were slightly syrupy and just a tad medicinal, but was happy to try another creative offering from these guys. Bottle from Sarah for Beerdvent 2014, with another bottle from the Rare Beer Club.
