Poured into a snifter. 3.0 A: First pour yielded a moderately hazed deep amber color. Two fingers of frothy tan head that falls rather quickly and leaves nearly no lacing. 4.25 S: Oh shit! The cherries in this are super strong. Sweet, sweet cherries. Behind that there’s a peppery spiciness, caramel, and sugar crackery maltiness. Mild yeast breadiness, plum fruitiness, and a hint of clove. Really nice. 3.75 T: Like the nose, the cherries are the strongest component. Though this tastes great, the flavors don’t come together as well as they do in the nose. It’s sweet, but less so than the nose lets on. Still got caramel, plum and raisin fruits, peppery and clove spice. The yeast is more pronounced adding a heftier breadiness. 3.25 M: Heavier medium body. A bit overcarbonated. Fizzy without being very spritzy if that makes sense. 3.5 D: Good beer, but I think it would be better without as much yeastiness and if the mouthfeel turned out better (with too much carbonation being the biggest problem). ★ 1,033 characters DavoleBomb, Feb 18, 2015

Pours a dark brown-red. Has a strong dark fruit, yeast and grain aroma. Taste is strong with tart dark fruits - lots of cherry - wheat, yeast, and spices. An incredibly strong dry aftertaste from yeast and dark fruit.

Draught @ Mikro: This one pours a very dark coppery color. It had a faint ruby tinge. It had a tan head that left some lacing. the nose is good. Slightly sweet. Yeasty, bready, dark fruits, cherries, candi sugar. The taste is very good. The taste mirrors the nose. A really good beer.

Location: 750 ml corked and caged bottle from Buy Rite, 6/11/15

Aroma: The nose is tart cherry juice, some spice, yeast, a little raisin/fig, and mild medicinal notes
Appearance: It pours a dark ruby-brown color with a small beige head and some light streaks of lace
Flavor: More sweet than the nose suggests, tartness, spice, and those medicinal notes on the close
Palate: The body is light-medium, more fizzy than not, with a lingering, slightly puckering finish
Overall Impression: If there’s one thing I know about this beer: Dave would hate this. As for me, I thought it was okay. I’d probably have enjoyed it more if not for two main issues: Issue #1 - The odd medicinal notes that makes both the aroma and flavor feel flawed. Issue #2 - The mouthfeel is just off here. There’s too much carbonation and not enough body.

Appearance is dark red with a thin but long lasting white head and active legs. Aroma of candied sugar, vanilla, biscuit, and toffee. Flavors of dark fruit, rum, toffee, and a slight tartness from the cherry. Simple beer, with high drinkability, and the ABV is masked well.
