3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 phaleslu (4459) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 20, 201212 oz. bottle from michael-pollack- thanks, Pollack! Pours a cloudy, deep ruby-amber color with a tiny beige head that vanishes quickly. Aroma of banana bread, back cherries, candi sugar, caramel malts, plums, and some booze that warms the nostrils. The flavor is pretty similar, with lots of cherry, red apple, fig, and plum fruits, banana bread, sweet and caramel malts, and sugars. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a mouthfeel that starts chewy and finishes dry. Warms the palate. Pretty good but the banana character from the Belgian yeast overhelms a lot of the cherry character.

pours a dark reddish brown with no head. aroma of belgian yeast, bananas and tart cherries. tastes boozy, overly sweet, belgian yeast and banana notes overpower the beer, the mouthfeel is syrupy, not pleasing to drink. Not what i expected, not really loving this beer. weyerbacher in my opinion is hit or miss, this is a big miss.

Bottle… Clear mahogany ale with a small, creamy, white head. The bouquet furnishes a medicinal note, methanol and vanilla. Medium-bodied with tickling carbonation. The flavor is medicinal and bittersweet with a mishmash of hops, malts and fruit. Tangy, medicinal finish. Kudos to biggsbowler for sharing his bottle of this!

Bottle. Pours clear ruby brownish with minimal khaki head. Nose is funky dark fruit, lactose, cherry, cinnamon. Fairly dense palate, with tart cherry, some earthy woody notes, and a crisp fruity finish. The cherry tartness gets less tart as it warms, with more spices emerging. Unique and enjoyable.
