Bought at the brewery in March 2012 and opened today. Aroma was pleasant and it wanted to jump out of the bottle. Has a nutty, roasted taste. Itís complex in that it wants to be the stout that it resembles, but has Belgian touches throughout. The pour is smooth without much carbonation.

Aroma caramel, chocolate, roasty, alcohol, Appearance black, brown foam, Taste medium sweetness, lightly bitter, Palate full body, thick feel, long finish, Overall definitely can taste the alcohol in this one. One and done. Glad this is in 12oz bottles now because Iím not sure that I could drink a big one. It is a very thick chocolatey beer that is not for a person who is new into craft beer. That being said I would suggest this beer to a friend at the end of the night.

12oz bottle from a few months ago - nose is roast, licorice and leather. sip adds booze, more roast and did I mention booze? a sipper for sure. Perfect for tailgating on really hot day in a parking lot with not shade in site. Oh wait, not at all. Strong. will probably spend all afternoon on it. 20 minutes later... still strong and boozy. smoother as it warms (numbs?).

Draft sample pour opaque black with moderate tan head. Nose big banana, light milk chocolate. Taste chocolate covered banana, light Belgian ester. Lighter dark chocolate finish.

Drank from a nonic glass poured from a twelve ounce bottle. Looks beautiful, pours black with dark brown head with a slight cherry coloration. Smells a bit like roasted malts, bourbon, slight cherries. Tastes like burnt malts, chocolate, cherries and bourbon. Probably one of my least favorite Imperial Stouts.

commonmac (724) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 18, 2015
Bottle purchased at some point in the last few months. Consumed today with commonshawn in a Belgian Moeder Lambic glass. Aroma features plenty of chocolate and a hint of banana with strong alcohol/bourbon presence. Dark brown in color with an emphatic tan head. Mouthfeel is rich and velvety...really nice. Taste brings a lot to the table leading off sweet sugar and chocolate notes. That gives way to a kind of peat like quality and, eventually, to an almost anise element and some bitterness. You can definitely feel the alcohol...a heavy drinker for sure. Oh I get it...itís not Tiny at all! Clever.

Bottle with commonmac. Black with tan head. Milky chocolate aroma. Heavy candy sugar taste. Black licorice, toffee, small chocolate, some rubbery. Peat taste builds as warms. Full body. Nothing tiny about it.

355 ml. bottle. Bottled on 03/06/15 (USA dating). Belgian-style Imperial Stout according to the label (I have no idea what that means Ė Black Albert is the only thing that comes to mind Ė I am pretty that, this isnít what they meant). Light reddish black, little in the way of head. Nose is hugely umami, burned mocha, roasted licorice chocolate, boozy, almost medicinal, very intense not necessarily in a fun way but in an interesting way for sure. Taste is insanely umami, earthly, soy sauce, boozy, far too savory, almost salty, burned coffee, heavy earth, almost a dash of peat, almost vineous, heavy licorice, near pure black chocolate, pure coffee beans,Ö Thick, lingering, savory,Ö Far too much of one extremity for me. Fascinating but not to my taste. I respect it but I donít particularly love it. It did start to grow a little bit as the bottle progressed hence the slightly elevated score (given initial impression). Finish is slightly boozy.

Very dark cola looking beer with a brown head. Aromas of Belgian candy sugars and roasted coffee. Tastes of dark chocolate/coffee, dark licorice, some plum, and candy sugars. A bit of toffee with bourbon sweetness too. Very boozy. Sweet finish. Dark chocolaty notes linger on the tongue and a slight alcohol burn lingers in the throat. Quite good, but just a tad bit too cloyingly sweet for me.
